ANALYSIS PHASE
Analysis phase
1.1. LEARNING PROBLEMS
According to AskWonder.com (2021), Google
Sheets and Excel are used by between 750
million and 2 billion individuals throughout the
world. Every month, about 2 billion people
use Google Suite, which includes Google
Sheets, whereas Microsoft Excel has an
estimated 750 million to 1.2 billion monthly
users worldwide.
The clusters of numbers and formulas can be
intimidating for beginners to catch up,
especially adults who aren't exactly data or
spreadsheet-savvy.
Administrative people are not familiar with
query functions.
The intimidating computer language hinders
many people from using query functions.
Analysis phase
1.1. LEARNING PROBLEMS
According to Sarkar (2020), even though a
person can be a digital native or
technological savvy, digital skills, especially
spreadsheet skills have to be taught and
gained through well-structured training.
According to (Natter, 2019), The most
challenging skill for the user is mastering the
proper syntax for each type of computation.
Despite the fact that there are several
classes available to gain the skills required to
apply these formulae, many users still find
them challenging.

1.2 SITUATIONAL FACTORS
Adult learners working in HR Department
Novice users of Google Sheets
Malcolm Knowles (1980) argues a few
assumptions about the adult learner which
are, the adult learners
(i) move from dependency to increasing self-
directedness
(ii) draw on life experiences to aid learning;
(iii) are ready to learn when they assume new
social or life roles;
(iv) is problem-centered and wants to apply
new learning immediately; and
(v) is motivated to learn by internal, rather
than external, factors.

1.4. LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students will be able to:
structure data;
filter data;
protect original data being edited or
tempered;
incorporate various functions into Google
Query;
Apply conditional formatting to their data to

TEACHING & LEARNING STRATEGIES
Our learners will be able to experience these strategies
Blended learning - Flex Learning Model
Self Directed Learning

Graham (2006) “Blended learning systems combine face-to-face instruction with

computer-mediated instruction” According to Morris (2019) self-directed learning is a
process in which a learner assumes responsibility to control their learning objectives
and means in order to meet their personal goals or the perceived demands of their
individual context.

The training module be asynchronous sessions and will be set up through google site.
We created various mock - up data sets for our learners. These data are replicated
similar to the data set our learners will probably encounter in real world situations.

Our video demonstrations will also make it easier for our learners to see step by step
methods to work through each of the mock up data.

FLEX LEARNING MODEL
Characteristics of Flex learning
1. Reduction in traditional Face to Face time in learning
environment
2. Offers flexibility in choice of delivery mode for learning
3. Offers equivalence in learning despite delivery mode
4. Offers convenience of fitting learning into personal schedule 5.
Designed for student-centered and collaborative learning
6. Requires self-regulation and motivation for learning
7. Relies on technology in meeting learning outcomes to include
assessment

Learning Environment Development

Create an environment that encourages great level

of analytical thinking, creativity, flexibility and the

ability to manage information.

1.Tell The Learners The Learning Objective

Active participation from learners by encouraging them to organize their thoughts and their focus on learning

efforts.

2. Present Information
Identify what is the best way to represent a particular information in a way that is interactive and easy.
information will be broken up and divided into chunks and sub-topics that are easily comprehensible through

self-reflections, videos, and feedback.

3. Assess Performance
To make the assessments interactive and engaging, the training will incorporate simple forms of quizzes,

collaborative puzzles, drag and drop interactions, and scenario activities.

The Training Program
Hybridized Online

Our training materials (i.e videos and manuals) employ colors to discriminate objects within
formulas.

We also design challenges for our learners to

work with complicated and large data sets to

mainly to avoid learners using other more

common formulas in achieving similar results.

Using tick boxes we are able to guide our learners on which section we are

currently on. If students want to re - watch our training videos, they can

quickly scan through to sections which they want to re - learn.
