Symptom
During run-up, the shutter on Waste Toner Conveyance Unit may not open
when the unit is installed at a downwards angle towards the machine.

As a result, waste toner from Transfer Belt Unit is not collected into the Waste
Toner Conveyance Unit, but it accumulates on top of the shutter of the
conveyance unit.
If the machine is used for certain period (1,000 to 2,000 prints) while the
shutter is not opened, image quality issue or/and noise from Transfer Belt
Unit occurs.

Cause
Since the shape of a plastic cover near the Waste Toner Conveyance Unit
slotting area on the main body was changed, the front end of the conveyance
unit can get angled downwards more than before as it is installed. As a result,
the edge of the shutter may not hit the contact part on the main body side,
and the shutter will not open. When the Conveyance Unit and the Waste Toner
Box are installed together as one assy, this problem hardly occurs.

Action
Workaround during run-up for C360i/C300i/C250i:

1. Install Waste Toner Conveyance Unit

2. Install Waste Toner Box

3. Un-install the Waste Toner Conveyance Unit and the Waste Toner Box together
as one assy.

4. Re-install the Waste Toner Conveyance Unit and the Waste Toner Box together
as one assy.

Permanent Solution
The plastic cover that causes the problem will be changed back to the original
one as the permanent solution from Serial Cut-in:
EagleL: AA2J1650
EagleH,Z+: AA7N1650

Before the permanent solution is delivered, a plastic plate AA2J169600 can be

added as a workaround. This part will be available beginning of April 2022.
