Identify at least three (3) hazards in your community and list possible mitigation and prevention
measures.

PREVENTION MEASURES

1.POWER OUTAGE Make sure mobile devices are fully


charged or have backup power supply.
Keep supplies on hand including petty
cash, flashlights, extra batteries and
battery powered radio.

2. THUNDERSTORM Keep away from all utility lines and


objects that conduct electricity. Unplug
any electronic equipment well before
the storm arrives. Equip home with
whole house surge protectors to
protect your appliances.

3. EARTHQUAKE Stay under any nearby table or other


shelter, until the shaking stops. If a
table is not nearby, sidle up to one of
your home's interior walls, away from
tall objects and furniture that might
topple.

As a youth of today, write five answers in creating a safer world.

1. Help other people by being kind to them, helping each other is the key to a better future.

2.Volunteer at local schools. Spend time helping them reach their potential by tutoring,
mentoring or taking part in an after-school program.
3. Don’t throw trash in the lakes put it in the trashcan.

4. Stay at home, or always wear your mask when you go outside.

5. Recycled Materials it prevents pollution, reduces the need to harvest new raw materials,
saves energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, saves money, reduces the amount of waste
that ends up in landfills.
