BS Psychology 3-A

Assessment Questions:
1.In what way Atman attain its unification with the Universal Essence, Brahman?
2. How can man live in practicality and simplicity if he is filled with greediness and
cravings in his heart?
3. One major obligation of Muslims is to pray in private and in public. Do you think that
because of this obligation, Muslims are more religious than the Christians? Explain your
answer.

Answers:
1. The path that leads to the unification of Atman with Brahman lies in the belief on
Samsara. For Hindus, the cessation of Samsara is possible only when the
person reaches self-perfection. This self-perfection is properly called Moksha
(release). The breaking of the Self stops right after the person has undergone
Moksha. When this happens, the Person reaches Nirvana (extinction from all
finite conditions).
2. If man is to follow the ethical teachings of Zen- Buddhism and wants to live in
practicality and simplicity he should get rid and bring end to his greediness and
cravings of his heart. Change your view in life and live life authentically.
3. I think that all religions have different ways in living and serving with God and for
me it doesn’t mean that one religion doesn’t do what other religions do, for
example like the Muslims it doesn’t directly go down to Christians not being
religious. It depends upon the person not the religion itself.
