STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

It has been well said that, “Knowledge is a never ending process, the more you learn the more
you equip yourself to face tomorrow.” I firmly believe in this statement. In today’s world of
competition, it is very important to have a comprehensive knowledge to remain ahead of one’s
competitors. This attitude of “existence to explore” has persistently driven my interest towards
academic studies and has motivated me in the field of Mechanical Engineering. In order to
enhance my knowledge and sharpen my skills, an advance diploma program is the most rational
choice which will keep me updated with the latest technological advances and emerging areas
of my field.

As a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student with an ardent interest in the industrial

work environment, I have learnt the principles of mechanical engineering those are applicable
to most machines, which naturally widens my scope of learning and research. This has intrigued
me to explore the option of pursuing further course in Mechanical Engineering, which I believe
will not only supplement my knowledge acquired, but also provide with the best possible
platform for the accomplishment of my future goals. Furthermore, it includes specialized
subjects relating to modern manufacturing and production processes. The focus of the
mechanical engineering program is on ensuring that the candidates gain basic engineering and
science skills.

As of my academics, I have completed my 10 th grade with 72.5% from “Jai Ambe Vidyalaya” in
2015. Later on, I acquired admission in Parul Institute of Engineering And Technology affiliated
with Gujarat Technological University and secured 8.36/10 CGPA in my Diploma program of
Mechanical Engineering. The subjects like Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology and
Instrumentation, Industrial Engineering gave me an overview of this field. Industrial visits at
AMUL, Indo German Tool Room, and IOCL oil rig were part of my curriculum. Furthermore, as a
part of my last year project I with my classmates constructed a combined punching and riveting
machine, the machine was based on cam and follower mechanism which was made for the
purpose of reducing human efforts, power and usage of space in an industrial area.

Centennial College is one of the leading institutes, and is consistently ranked amongst the best
colleges in the province of Toronto. Moreover, I found that there can be no better choice than
Centennial Mechanical Engineering Technology - Industrial (Advance Diploma) program as its
course content is very fulfilling and is designed as per the current market requirements. I am
inclined towards choosing this college because of its highly advanced facilities and various
industries around this college which would provide me with enough practical experience under
the optional CO-OP program. At the same time, an opportunity will be available to study under
highly qualified and experienced academicians.

Canada provides dynamic and social domain for further studies. It would be a golden
opportunity to study in Canada and gain precious knowledge which shall help to realize my
goals and enhance my skills. To add to this, Canada’s education stresses more on practical
approach of education rather than theoretical study. The college and university diplomas have
worldwide recognition. The educational system encourages cross-disciplinary studies and the
development of transferable skills. Moreover, according to QS World University Rankings, three
Canadian cities; Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, made to the list of the top 50 best cities for
students.

Mechanical engineering offers a wide variety of career opportunities to job aspirants in my

nation. The major industries that recruit mechanical engineers include; automobile, space
research, aeronautical, energy and utilities, air conditioning, manufacturing industries and so
on. Even mechanical engineers have lots of scope on government sectors that include giant
manufacturing industries, turbine manufacturing industries, oil & gas refineries, agro industries.
Moreover, ‘Make in India’ initiative will lead to implementation of some visionary projects in
India that will take the industry to pinnacle and also many industrial hubs are developing that
will open up lot of opportunities for mechanical engineers.

All in all, I request you to provide me the golden opportunity to advance my future studies in
Canada. In case of any further query, you may contact me at: jinit388@gmail.com
