CHAPTER 1- INTRODUCTION

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Tare Zameen Foundation is a non-profit organization. It was founded in 2018 and is based in

New Delhi. Bishikesan Saw is the founder of this organization.

The organization believes in a bias-free future where people do not have to fight for their

rights and have equal access to everything. Not only that they create social awareness on

topics like Save Girl Child, Employment opportunities for women and Education rights for

unprivileged children.

Tare Zameen Foundation believes that all human beings should have the same opportunities

to succeed in life despite the circumstances they were born into. They hear the voice of

deprived people, address their problem, bring help, and solves their problem.

They have many success stories and campaigns like Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, a campaign

launched by the Government of India in 2014. It's main objective is to keep our surroundings

like streets, roads, and infrastructure of the country clean. Moreover, it pursued the sweepers

and laborers as well as every one of the residents of the country. This aided in making the

message reach more extensive.

1
Meri Pehchan, in this project they provided books to the needy and to the ones who wanted

to get educated but cannot study because of financial conditions or pandemics. The main

objective behind this project is to spread knowledge as it is a basic right for every individual.

In today's world without knowledge and education, a person is nothing. In order to attain

success one should study and work towards their goals.

Sakha: Free Distribution of Sanitary Napkins kit. With the help of this project, they

wanted to create awareness of menstrual health and talk about why hygiene is important.

They gave the sanitary kit to the women who cannot afford it. The sole purpose was to ensure

better menstrual health of poor women.

Through these programs, they provide awareness regarding the importance of a healthy and

clean environment especially among the children as they are the future. Volunteers working

there also distributed sanitary pads among the underprivileged and tells them the importance

of health hygiene.

Every non-profit organization has its priorities set, Tare Zameen Foundation prioritizes

empowering women, inspiring the community, turning empathy into action, centralizing

education, and helping the most vulnerable.

For people to believe us, it is important to show empathy because showing empathy means

working with them, understanding their problems, and providing them with solutions. The

most important thing is to be kind to them. Being kind and understanding will help them trust

you and would show that the things we are doing are not for sympathy but with empathy.

They also raise funds for the program like Covid-19 Rahat, Menstrual hygiene and many

more. With this program, they provide ration to the people who are struggling for the basics

and conduct sessions for women in rural areas.

2
Bharat Petroleum, Bank of Baroda, ONGC, Indian Oil, and Hindustan Petroleum are their

sponsors.

They believe in a famous saying, “Our actions cannot change the world but it can change the

world of one person”.

Chapter 2- Work Profile

INFORMATION ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP POSITION

Being a non-profit organization, Tare Zameen Foundation trusts in the inclination-free future

where individuals don't need to battle for their privileges and have equivalent admittance to

everything. Each NGO work for a purpose and attempt to get improvement the existence of

individuals. The work is finished with generosity. At the point when students understudy

volunteer to work at NGO, it is an incredible open door for him/her to understand things

according to with a better point of view. It assists the students with perceiving how easily

overlooked details can change the existences of such countless individuals.

Youths are considered to be the pillars of the country as it is them who will bring out the

change in the world. It is them who will work for the upliftment of the country. After the

temporary job time frame when they fill in as experts, the experience of the entry-level

position will remind them to consistently work for the advancement of others. In whatever

calling they look for a task, their primary reason will be to work on the existences of

individuals and work for the advancement of the country.

They offer internships in various departments one of them being Campus Ambassadors.

Before starting the internship, I got an offer letter from the organization as a Campus

Ambassador intern. On the first day of the internship, Miss Sakshi told us about the

organization and their ongoing projects on google meet. Before assigning our tasks and

position she asked for our introduction. She then told us our positions and assigned us tasks.

Our task was to raise funds and donate books to the organization. Through these tasks they

wanted us to evoke the quality of helping others in crucial times.

4
The role of the Campus Ambassador was to act as a link between the university and the

organization. As their Campus Ambassador interns, we used to promote their various events

and campaigns on social media or to our friends and family and to tell the positive impacts

about their projects so that more people will be happy to join their hands with the

organization.

The main role of the Ambassador isn't just to make the individuals mindful of the

organization's projects, events, or campaigns but also to ensure that everyone takes part in the

things organized by the organization.

Campus Ambassadors are fascinated and energized to work for the organization, its beliefs,

the message it is trying to portray, and its work. They additionally will in general have

leadership qualities, taking initiative and charge on their grounds. Because of this, they are

likewise powerful.

They have the appropriate contacts, with both, students and the staff. The most outstanding

aspect of this connection is that an individual from the college need not approach the

organization straightforwardly, they can move toward the ambassadors.

The representative is significantly more receptive and open than the organization. They can

be of incredible help because of the obligation they convey.

We were also responsible for networking. Asking people to tie up with the organization to

help them raise funds and take part in the ongoing activities or campaigns happening at that

moment.

In one of our meetings, our mentor Ms. Sakshi told us we will work with individuals from a

few unique foundations who are joined in their energy for a specific reason. Non-profit

organizations will additionally show us how to consider some fresh possibilities.

5
NGO work will transform us into a considerably more grounded individual since we will

begin unexpectedly seeing things. She told us that while working with NGO our vision to see

things will change in some manner.

It is a great platform for students to showcase their public speaking skills, leadership

qualities, and the extraordinary stage for doing incredible things for society.

6
Roles and Responsibilities in the Company

I have been extremely lucky and grateful to get the wonderful opportunity to work as

an intern at Tare Zameen Foundation; an organization that understands the importance

of human dignity & human rights and is working extensively towards their awareness

and promotion. During my internship tenure, I had the privilege of working closely

with this organization and actively contributing towards different events which this

organization was organizing for the fulfillment of their noble goal of helping the most

vulnerable by taking action on our own without waiting for the right circumstance or

opportunity.

NGOs take up and execute activities to advance government assistance of the local area

they work with. They work to address different concerns and issues winning inside the

general public. NGOs are not-revenue driven bodies which implies they don't have any

business interest. NGOs are run on gifts made by people, corporations, and

organizations. They participate in gathering pledges exercises to fund-raise for doing

the work they do. NGOs play a crucial role in helping the needy in the country and also

elevating the socio-economic status of millions in India.

NGOs are made out of specialists with long periods of involvement in executing social

government assistance exercises. Before carrying out a venture, itemized investigation

of the circumstance is done and potential arrangements are considered. Joint effort with

community organizations and other government offices (at district, state, and national

level) is done to complete the work.

7
NGOs do not just go on the ground to resolve these issues, they likewise attempt

campaign exercises to produce mindfulness on these issues. In the present time, NGOs

are proficiently utilizing the force of online media to scatter data about their work and

contact an ever-increasing number of individuals.

My enriching learning experience at this wonderful organization was only possible

under the supervision and guidance of Miss Sakshi without who was a mentor for me

during my entire journey.

As my journey commenced, I was initially introduced to the amazing and inspiring

work that Tare Zameen Foundation does. As I became aware of the organization and

the kind of work it has been doing, I was moved and couldn't wait to begin my journey

and contribute to the great work they do in any way possible.

After the introduction and briefing, I got a wonderful opportunity when I was assigned

my first task. I was involved in organizing a fundraiser on behalf of the Tare Zameen

Foundation. This fundraiser was to raise funds for providing ration to the

underprivileged families who were deeply affected by the ongoing pandemic and the

lockdown that followed.

By this campaign, they fed many underprivileged families and used to provide them

with ration.

The next task that I undertook was collecting and donating books for the

underprivileged children who could not afford these books and whose education was

hampered due to the pandemic and the subsequent closing down of schools.

8
Education is the basic right that everyone is allowed to have and spreading knowledge

is the noblest cause of all. Volunteers used to teach the young children so that they have

basic education to read and write.

9
Opportunities

Throughout my internship period, I got the wonderful opportunity of involving myself in

different tasks all of which opened new and unique learning avenues for me which I am

extremely grateful for.

The first of such an opportunity that was given to me by my mentor was to understand

how the process of fundraising works; from the technical side of it to the marketing and

awareness aspect of it. I was made to understand the intricacies of the entire process of

fundraising.

As I developed an understanding of the process from a theoretical perspective, I then had

the opportunity of implementing the theoretical knowledge I gained in a practical setup

while exploring and understanding the process of fundraising on my own. As I worked in

organizing a fundraiser for raising funds for providing ration to underprivileged families

who faced immense struggles and even lost their livelihoods during the lockdown

imposed due to the devastating pandemic, it made me understand the importance of

money. At the same time, this fundraiser helped me value every small contribution that

we were able to get we were able to raise funds through numerous small contributions

from various people. All of this reminded me of the motto of the Tare Zameen

Foundation; Our actions cannot change the world but they can change the world of one

person. Being able to organize this fundraiser and raise funds for such a noble cause was

extremely fulfilling and the feeling of satisfaction and happiness was unmatched.

One of the best things that the Tare Zameen Foundation taught me is that the better way

of aiding poor people is to give them a hand up. Giving them moral help, showing

sincere modesty and regard makes them mindful that somebody truly thinks often about

10
them and attempts to work on their condition. By giving them the chance to work on

their condition all alone would build their confidence and help them in conquering

hindrances they face each day.

Work with poor people and poor individuals and assist them with finding their own

abilities and limitations and putting them to use at the perfect alignment of timing and

location. Backing them and letting them in on that they have something of significant

worth which can be utilized for meeting their requirements.

During the lockdown, people having the necessities were also struggling and complaining

about different things but at that time this organization wanted to help the needy so that they

don't sleep empty stomach and gets proper things so that they can also save themselves from

this pandemic.

While working for the NGO I got to know that it also improves our skill development. Skills

development is very important in one's life as it would help one boost their confidence in

doing work or while communicating. Each NGO has specific restrictions, particularly for

things like financing or asset accessibility. These associations have recently a restricted

measure of assets to spend on, making an effect. Therefore, most NGOs are compelled to

think of exceptionally imaginative arrangements to make the greatest contact with minimal

measure of assets.

The next learning opportunity that I got was when we were collecting books for the

underprivileged students whose families were unable to afford education for them which

was hampered due to the shutting down of schools as a result of the pandemic. As I

began the process of frantically collecting as many books as possible for these children, I

understood how lucky and privileged I have been my entire life to have access to good

quality education without any struggles.

11
Both these opportunities taught me how important it is to constantly be grateful for the

life and the amenities that we all have and at the same time how important it is to share it

with those who are less unfortunate than us. At the same time, I also learned the true

meaning of the phrase "every bit counts" as I saw how small small efforts can make a

huge difference, all that is required is for someone to start putting in those efforts.

12
Supervisory and Administrative Skills Used

In the beginning, I felt nervous because I was working first time professionally but

Miss Sakshi tried to calm us.

Ms. Sakshi tried to create a cordial relationship with us so that we feel free to

communicate with her. To guarantee that lines of communication stay open, she made

herself promptly accessible so that we could discuss any issues or concerns.

She believes that an open, inspirational perspective goes far to establishing a healthy

workplace. Try not to shut down or set ourselves up in place of worship. Basic signals,

like dynamic consolation, perceiving accomplishments, and looking into the existences

of your representatives, guarantee that staff feels esteemed. A positive working

environment makes cheerful, spurred representatives.

Working in this organization required me to constantly interact and work with different

people who belong to various backgrounds. All of these tasks helped me improve my

people skills and taught me how to communicate with different people. At the same

time, it helped me build my confidence as well as my oratory skills as I regularly

communicated with my teammates, my mentor as well as other people.

Communication with teammates or even my mentor was very important it requires the

exchange of thoughts and ideas that the individual would have regarding the event,

campaigns, or even their projects. The lack of communication skills will have a

negative impact and would even show the disinterest of a person in the ongoing

activities.

13
Initially, when I had started working, I was apprehensive about reaching out to people

for the fundraiser but with my mentor's guidance and motivation, I started doing it.

As I proceeded, I realized that reaching out to people has made me more expressive

and my ability to convey the message while at the same time convincing people to do

the right thing has definitely improved. Being an introvert, I thought it would be very

challenging for me to convince and talk to people about their projects but slowly and

gradually I overcame that fear a little bit. I was scared of sending the wrong message to

the audience but my mentor Miss Sakshi played a big role and took care that the

message I was trying to tell was correct.

Functioning collectively in an expert climate was by and large an alternate encounter

for me. It instructed me that how regardless of being two unique people and characters,

we must be unassuming and pay attention to the next's perspective too. However my

kindred mate and I couldn't help contradicting each other at certain spots, yet all things

considered, one of us did change and pay attention to the next.

Messy working practices, lateness, and overall sloppiness will not go on without

serious consequences at this level and will set a terrible guide for your staff. Powerful

authoritative abilities lessen pressure, save time, and guarantee that significant cut off

times are met.

Consequently, some of the numerous things that the Tare Zameen Foundation showed

me were to be a decent audience, to be patient, and to esteem your kindred mates when

working in a group.

14
Overall, it was an extremely fulfilling, satisfying, and enriching experience for me to be

a part of an organization like Tare Zameen Foundation, wherein I not only worked in a

professional environment and learned professional skills, but at the same time also did

good for the society and contributed in helping those who were deeply affected by the

pandemic.

15
CHAPTER 3- Key Learnings and Contributions

KEY LEARNING

In my 4 week internship, I learned that NGOs do work following specific methodologies and

social or monetary strategies that are expected to address the particular issue under a

microscope. As can be noted at Tare Zameen Foundation, which is engaged with different

programs from youth improvement, youth advancement, ladies strengthening to the old help,

in those projects it takes on approaches and arrangements that best suit the systems of

intercession advertised.

Tare Zameen Foundation offers a stage for everyone to come and join them in different

programs organized by them. They are there to assist the people who are willing to help the

individuals who are in need to additional their schooling, learnerships, and occupations into

different areas.

The qualities of the NGO exercises lies in its capacity to give an opportunity to the

youngsters and youth to work for the betterment of the country by providing them education

and telling them the differences between right and wrong and helping them explore their

talents.

Just like other things education is also important. Education gives us our identity and the

power to improve our status in society. It is the only main apparatus that can fill the gap

between the poor and rich. With education, one's personality gets molded. They can find jobs,

secure a good position in society, and can lead a healthy life.

16
The shortcoming exists in its failure to draw in plenty of individuals who are meandering

around the roads to come to join the projects presented at the NGO.

Even though a number of youth go to a portion of the projects offered, an impressively large

number of the individual in the region don't participate in any of the projects. However, it

should be noticed that the ability of the youth to go to the projects is additionally affected by

their kinds of companions and family, regardless of whether they are positive, good

examples, or strong for one to accomplish something positive.

Working with NGOs also develops working with an unselfish attitude mode in a person

because NGOs are essentially non-benefit associations whose fundamental center is offering

support to the general public as opposed to bringing in cash. Resultantly, they either pay you

exceptionally less cash or no cash, which assists you with fostering a feeling of unselfishness.

When this quality is created, you will not generally work for benefit however for a reason

which is gainful for other people.

NGOs don't see the position or religion of individuals for whom they work. That eventually

implies when you work with an NGO, you will manage individuals from different social

foundations, religions, and societies, which assists you with figuring out how to take on

another culture and workspace. Having incredible social information and versatile abilities

makes you flexible for the future; from that point, any place or whoever you work with, you

realize how to manage various circumstances.

Working in an NGO also makes us more responsible because of our work different lives are

dependent. If we won't efficiently, the organizations won't be able to generate enough funds

for the organization hence, it will be difficult for them to conduct campaigns and project for

the underprivileged or needy. Having responsibility and doing it, even in the wake of

realizing you will not receive a lot consequently, fosters a feeling of obligation. While going

17
through this, you continue gaining the nature of wrapping up jobs without searching for

benefit in all things.

At the point when you work for yourself, your reasoning range gets restricted, and never do

you think past the fenced-in area of your life and gains. Yet, working in an NGO compels

you to think for individuals. This enlarges your reasoning range so that in the future when

you work, you think about the gathering or on an organization level, which eventually

upgrades your believability.

Also, working in a group requests you to chat with various kinds of individuals with different

qualities and practices. Managing everybody with humbleness and not blowing your top is a

quality that must be learned by investing energy with individuals who are cooperating. This

creates extraordinary intelligent abilities which could be productive in varying backgrounds.

18
CONTRIBUTION MADE

The organization has been working for various causes like upliftment of children, women,

aged, and many more. They have reached out to the underprivileged families during the

lockdown to provide them with ration and other necessities.

We as campus ambassador interns have sent out a strong message that would help them raise

funds for this noble cause. Utilizing the online mode, we had generated links and send them

to people, and request them to join hands with the organization.

Generating links can be useful because it would help convey the role that the organization is

trying to portray so that many individuals can understand the cause better which is important

when the organization is trying to collect donations for its campaigns.

Strengthening the awareness of the NGO was the foremost motive. Some of the campaigns

run by the organization lacked online visibility. Our role was that the motive of the campaign

should reach a great number audience as it would profit the organization

I used to promote their campaigns, events, or projects on social media like Instagram,

Facebook and on various levels. Promoting any cause is effective for the organization

because it would reach a large number of audience. Promoting not only means generating

funds for the organization but it would also help to gather more volunteers who will be happy

to serve people in need. For an NGO to work properly they also need some volunteers who

will help them in their projects.

As interns, they were looking for people who would convince the people to donate, people

who would be kind to others, and people who have great communication skills.

19
We used to reach out to the existing donors or the people who had helped the organization in

past with their generous share to inform them about the ongoing projects or campaigns and

approach them for funding.

We also used to look for the potential leads or corporates who would tie up the organization

in making the lives of people easy. Their small amount would change the lives of some

people. The organization needs to tie up with different people or companies because they

would help them in generating funds or would gather some volunteers who will be helping

people in education or creating a peaceful environment for them.

We regularly neglect the significance of books and the amount of a distinction they can make,

particularly in the existence of youngsters. Books assist youngsters with sorting out their

general surroundings, grant ethics and qualities to them, show them compassion, and contrast

between good and bad. Besides, kids who can't peruse can't learn and this affects their

tutoring.

You realize reading completely changed you. Books have been your companions, your

sidekicks, your associate. They've shipped you to new spots, assisted you with discovering

answers for your issues, and, frequently, basically gave you a road to get away from your

world. We donated books so that we could educate at least one member of the family and

change their future.

Schooling is one of the key parts that bring development and progress into society. The more

people get educated the more our country will develop.

Books also give us discipline. Discipline is something that keeps every individual in charge.

It propels an individual to advance throughout everyday life and make progress. Everybody

has to follow discipline in his/her life in an alternate structure. Also, everybody has the

possibility of discipline.

20
Tare Zameen Foundation believes that educating even one member of the family is important

because one educated member can change the status and condition of the whole family and it

would also encourage more people in getting educated as he or she will realize the

importance of education.

21
CHALLENGES FACED DURING INTERNSHIP

Working with Tare Zameen Foundation was a delightful experience, the four-week internship

with them not only helped me to do social work but also helped to gain knowledge and

experience. Even though the mentors of the Tare Zameen Foundation were very corporate

with us at every stage but there were a few things in which I faced a lot of challenges.

Working for an NGO is a task itself, but at the same, our doings would affect the lives of

numerous people. The tasks performed in the organization were good but I would like to

recommend some things.

The organization’s objective doesn't lie in achieving a task alone. After the achievement of a

specific undertaking, the organization would need to keep in touch with its recipients and

ensure progress is going on. Aside from that, the organization would likewise need to have

the option to help more people and networks relying upon their necessities. To do as such,

organizations need to continually get funds.

Sometimes, they used to become careless and just trust that gifts or past allies will get in

touch with them. This training will not the slightest bit add to the achievements of an NGO.

Not having sufficient assets presents hardships in achieving projects, yet it likewise places

NGOs in danger given that there are additionally numerous functional expenses.

Our role in the organization was to raise funds for their ongoing projects and to donate books

to the organization.

During the initial days, I used to find it difficult asking people to join their hands with us and

help us in this noble cause. Being a non-profit organization, their main and foremost rule was

to generate maximum profits so that they could help many people.

Also, I learned how to communicate and interact with people from different backgrounds.

People from different backgrounds also gave me a lot of knowledge while working with

22
them. Because somehow it gave me the confidence to open up with people and share my

thoughts freely.

Not much information was provided to us by the organization.

It became difficult for us to gather all the information whether it was about the organization

or about the ongoing projects in one go because no meetings were held regarding their

projects.

Giving a reasonable or correct message to the audience about the project is also important.

Sometimes, we cannot explain the reason correctly which could cause us with losing funds.

We weren’t being guided enough about the ongoing projects briefly by the organization.

They did not review our work. We were not being told about the progress of our work.

23
SUMMARY

My internship with Tare Zameen Foundation has been an excellent one. It is a non-profit

organization that helps the underprivileged. Tare Zameen Foundation accepts that all

individuals ought to have some freedom to prevail in life regardless of the conditions they

were naturally introduced to. They hear the voice of denied individuals, address their

concerns, bring help, and tackle their concerns. Their main idea is to reduce poverty and treat

them as equals.

The gap between rich and poor is a big issue to deal with. Not much progress has been seen

regarding this issue but the government and some NGOs are taking an active part to educate

the poor people so that they could improve their living style and status in society.

The organization even employs so that they can earn and help their family in through

financial crisis. Being associated with this organization is one of the best things. We get to

help people who are in need so that they don't have to live miserable lives. The organization

wants them to have a bias-free environment where they have all the rights that the upper-class

section of the society has.

During the lockdown, the unprivileged families faced a lot of problems as everything was

finished and situations became difficult in that pandemic for those people as they were not

able to live their livelihoods. But in these difficult situations, I felt so good that in the world

of selfish people there are people especially our organization who are helping those who need

help and also guiding others too for helping these people who need your help. I am glad that I

worked as an intern in such a wonderful organization that is just motivating needy people to

grow.

Our work will make a huge commitment towards a superior tomorrow. It will bring a feeling

of occupation fulfillment and self-inspiration to accomplish more.

24
Working for an NGO is superior to sitting at home dreaming about an ideal society you need

to live in. The best way to accomplish an ideal society is, to make one, by working

emphatically towards the cultural turn of events.

Also 'Tare Zameen Foundation gave funds in the medical sectors as well. People suffering

from different diseases and were not able to protect themselves by the different medical

problems, our organization made an effort and helped them as well by protecting them by

giving medicines and funds. Generally in the world of selfish people, some gems think about

these people and contribute whatever they can so that that contribution can help those people

in some or other ways.

While working in the NGO we will get an opportunity to fabricate your organization with

persuasive individuals and greater organizations. It allows us an opportunity to know

individuals with the same objectives as you. It can likewise build your work possibilities

inside the NGO or with the organizations that NGO work with.

Working in an NGO will expand our viewpoint. It will cause an effect in transit we seek after

our targets and simply decide. Working in an NGO can have a constructive outcome on our

life. It additionally offers a chance to work abroad.

We will also learn and encounter experience working with individuals of various societies. It

will likewise build our capacity to adjust to various social requests and conduct assumptions

and affect your capacity to deal with tough circumstances,

If we effectively work/volunteer in the organization that will assist us with making a positive

commitment to the development and improvement of the general public. We can work for the

purpose you are generally enthusiastic about.

25
Campus Ambassador Programs are casual positions, where you not working from any office

however liable for getting the news out with regards to the association they present. Students

can perform the work with whatever skills they want to. It improves our team management

skills, public speaking skills, technical skills, social media skills, and many more. We also

had the real experience where we interacted with many people and told them about the

organization and it is helping people and convinced them to come and join.

Every week on Sunday they used to conduct an award ceremony where they would distribute

awards to those who have completed their target that was given on the first day of the

internship. This used to boost our confidence and would motivate us to complete our target

on time.

Their main purpose to organise the weekly award ceremony was to develop confidence in the

interns. It is important to feel some sense of accomplishment. This sense of accomplishment

will keep him/her moving forward when things would get tough ahead.

In every meeting, they used to introduce us to a member of the organization and he/she would

motivate us to do better.

The awarding person used to share his/her experience with the rest of the members. They also

talked about how they felt after raising funds for such a good cause.

I was rewarded with the star of the week award by the organization for my great performance

during the week. This motivated me to work more better towards my goals.

This weekly award ceremony is used to boost our confidence and willpower to work more

efficiently. Helping underprivileged families by generating funds for them made my heart

smile.

Tare Zameen Foundation wishes people to donate books because the books that are not

needed to us may be needy to the other people. With the help of these books, they teach the

underprivileged who cannot afford to go to school and study. They want them to be educated.

There are times when kids don't comprehend things by perusing alone. Volunteers would

read out the books to the children and explain them every small detail.

At the point when you give your books, you permit the chance to allow those texts to have

new life. Regardless of whether they end up in the possession of a youthful teenager

searching for a thrilling new story to peruse, or they become part of an assortment on another

person's rack

CHAPTER 4

CONCLUSION

I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Tare Zameen Foundation. This internship has

changed me as a person. During the lockdown, some families did not have rations and the

other necessities were still surviving. They suffer from hunger, lack of education and they do

not even have a proper place to live but on the other side some families had proper ration and

other necessities were still cribbing over smaller things.

The biggest thing I learned from this organization is spreading smiles in people. They work

for so many projects just because they want a bright for future for the people who can not

afford to.

Save girl child, distributing sanitary pads, generating funds, donating ration, cancer

awareness, Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan are just the reason to help them provide a better life.

28
Giving books that would otherwise just be wasted is a great way of giving them to the people

who need them. Helping will only give them happiness. These life lessons are what I consider

to be my biggest takeaway from this internship opportunity.

During the lockdown, I have learned how we can help needy people by just providing them

with basic necessities like ration, medicines, sanitizers, masks. The organization tried to

contact them and provide them with clothes, food, sanitary products, medicines, etc.

I got to know a lot about the organization regarding the poverty, illiteracy, and

unemployment arising in our country. I think that people should have some basic knowledge

regarding all these three important things- poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment so that the

issues regarding them should be dealt with adequately.

As our internship was online, we helped the organization by generating funds with which

they could help them.

All the tasks given to us were so incredible and I really enjoyed performing all of them

because from each task we really got something new to learn. Our mentor was so good she

explained everything to us each and everything so nicely. The 'Tare Zameen Foundation' had

made the lives of unprivileged families easy in this pandemic by helping them so much.

The organization also believes in empowering women. They provide job opportunities to

them so that they can work and earn and can be called independent. They do not have to be a

liability to the husbands or sons instead they could also help the other family members

financially.

By working, women can create an identity for themselves and can keep themselves busy.

Staying at home and taking care of the children is not the only role of women. They can work

as well as take care of the house. Tare Zameen Foundation believes in the upliftment of

women by providing them job opportunities.

29
It is well said that "awareness is knowledge and knowledge is power". Not having enough

awareness, Tare Zameen Foundation helps them through different projects like Swatch

Bharat Abhiyan, Meri Pehchan, Heath issues, etc.

For example, during COVID-19 volunteers went and told them they need to wear masks,

wash hands in every five to ten minutes and maintain social distancing to keep themselves.

Telling girls the importance of sanitary pads.

NGOs give freedom to the self-association of society. NGOs empower residents to cooperate

intentionally to advance social qualities and community objectives, which are imperative to

them. They advance neighborhood drive and critical thinking. Through their work in an

expansive exhibit of fields – climate, health, poverty alleviation, culture, and human

expression, instruction, and so on – NGOs mirror the variety of society itself. They likewise

help the general public by enabling residents and advancing change at the "grassroots".

NGOs become spokespersons for poor people and endeavor to impact government strategies

and projects for their benefit.

NGO's has an integral part in communication. It enables the communication upward from the

people to the government and downward from the government to the people or we could say

that NGO acts as a link between the government and people because it informs the

government about what people are thinking, doing, or feeling and visa versa it informs people

about what the government is planning or doing for them.

NGOs have a more clear connection to a directing reason, everyone's benefit. They really

take up the responsibility of satisfying moral and social necessities that should be taken by

the public authority. All things considered, there's more satisfaction in giving than getting.

NGOs really exemplify this idea.

30
In general, this internship was a useful experience. I have acquired new information, abilities

and met numerous new individuals. I accomplished a few of my learning objectives, but for

some, the conditions didn't allow. I got understanding into proficient practice. I took in the

various aspects of working inside an NGO. I encountered that financing, as in numerous

associations, is a significant factor for the advancement of ventures.

Overall, I had the best experience as I got an opportunity to help the underprivileged in such

critical times. This internship also taught me how to bring smiles just by doing the needful.

CHAPTER 5

SUGGESTIONS / RECOMMENDATIONS

I had the best time while working with Tare Zameen Foundation.

1) There used to be a communication gap between the mentors and interns.

2) They should provide detailed information regarding tasks assigned or any projects.

3) They should provide their interns a regular opportunity to ask questions, talk about

their performance, understand how they can improve.

4) Tare Zameen Foundation, an NGO which works for the betterment of the people and

believes in the upliftment of society. I would like to recommend this organization to

everyone who believes in a bias-free future. Twenty to thirty years old are

determined, can consistently work in assorted work culture. As a millennial myself,

I've generally followed my enthusiasm instead of pursuing cash. So with regards to

'work that is important, non-benefit occupations offer the chance to be a piece of

something that will significantly affect society.

5) This organization devotes its time and other things to helping society. They care,

respect appreciates, and accepts everyone irrespective of who they are.

6) Our organization has also made efforts to guide them for their future and also

explained to them the importance of being self-independent and hardworking. In

crucial times, unprivileged families should at least have something on their back

especially the funds so that in these crucial stages like coronavirus, they can live their

life without begging. This thought will definitely help unprivileged families to grow

in certain stages. Importance of education is must and especially this that how can

they live their livelihood when some problem arises so that they are not devasted at

that moment.

32
7) The organization should also be made make them understand the importance of

education and guide them regarding the issue of why it is important to be independent

in life.

CHAPTER 7

APPENDICES

The organization has conducted a campaign where they had provided food to underprivileged

families. Everyone suffered during the lockdown but the ones who were affected the more

were daily wages. These people used to fill their stomachs with the everyday wage they

earned. Tare Zameen Foundation generated online funds raising links where they collected

money from the people and ask to donate their share and to join hands with them in this noble

cause so that they don’t sleep empty stomach.

35
Organizations also distributed books to the needy ones so that their education does not get

affected. By talking to them, the volunteers could understand that because of not having

36
enough money to buy the books or the pressure to earn some money so that they could run

their household, parents don't send their kids to the school instead send them to work on the

daily wage basis. So, the organization had to send their volunteers to teach them. By getting

an education, they can help their families and improve the future generations.

37
Tare Zameen Foundation has also started the campaign of Distributing Sanitary Pads to the

girls. They wanted to create awareness amongst the girls that how useful and safe it is to use

sanitary pads. Volunteers distributed the packets of sanitary pads to the girls and women.

38
39
I was given the certificate of appreciation by the organization for donating books. By

receiving this letter, I felt overwhelmed as I had helped someone to pursue their education. It

is very well said that 'books are man's best friend'. They help us to establish ourselves and

become something one day. By donating books, one is passing knowledge to the other. Books

assist kids with sorting out their general surroundings, grant ethics and qualities to them,

show them compassion, and the distinction between good and bad. I would urge everyone to

donate books and help in the development of the country.

40
41
During the lockdown, our organization also distributed masks, sanitizers to underprivileged

families. Volunteers told them about how much they had to take care of themselves during

the pandemic.

They also told them the importance of wearing masks, washing hands often, and maintaining

social distancing to avoid being the victim of coronavirus. Step out of the house only if there

are some emergencies.
