4 Target Market
Demographic Profile of the Study
History of Pangantucan
The name “Pangantucan”, meaning wisdom and strength, is
dedicated to a white stallion. The horse uprooted a bamboo stalk in
9
time to warn his master, a datu of the tribe, of the impending threat of
Manobo raiders, thereby saving the tribe from massacre.
Pangantucan was once a barrio of Maramag, and as the seat of
government it was merged in 1931 with neighbouring Adtuyon,
Dominorog, Panalagsagan, Kalilangan and Barandias to form a
separate municipal district. It was granted Municipal status in 1961.
Geography
Pangantucan is one of 20 municipalities in the Province of
Bukidnon. It is situated at the south–western part of the province of
Bukidnon and located approximately 75 kilometres (47 mi) south of
Malaybalay, the capital town of Bukidnon, and is about 166 kilometres
(103 mi) away from Cagayan de Oro City. Wao, Lanao Del Sur, can be
reached through a 50 kilometres (31 mi) concrete/gravel paved
national road south from the municipality.
The Municipality of Pangantucan is bounded on the south-west
side by the province of Lanao del Sur and by the province of North
Cotabato on the southern part. The Municipality of Kalilangan lies at
the western part of the municipality while on its north-west portion is
the Mount Kitanglad Range. Valencia, regarded as the trade center of
Bukidnon bounds Pangantucan on its northern part while Maramag and
the Municipalities of Don Carlos and Kadingilan are found on its east
and south side respectively.
Pangantucan has a land area of 46,172 hectares (114,090 acres)
which is 9th largest among the 20 municipalities and two cities of the
province. It composed of 19 barangays, all of which are accessible on
summer days by motor vehicle fit for the bad roads.
Located in Barangay Pigtauranan are the lakes Napalit and Mata.
Lake Napalit is a tectonic lake situated outside the range of Mt.
Kalatungan. The lake supplies fishes like tilapia, gurami, carp, mudfish
and catfish. It has an area of around 36 hectares and an estimated
depth of 80 feet. According to the native folks, there used to be 24
10
islets floating in the lake. To date, only one islet stands. The
Department of Tourism declared the lake as a natural park. Around 1
kilometer away from Lake Napalit is Lake Mata. In between the two
lakes is a marsh settled with naturally bonsai-ed trees and tikog plants.
Tikog is harvested, treated and processed by the women into mats,
bags, placemats and other handicrafts.
Topography
The terrain of Pangantucan is characterized by slightly undulating
and rolling upland areas. In fact, 62 percent of the municipal land area
features rolling or hilly terrain with slopes ranging from 18 percent to 50
percent. Only about 14 percent is suitable for agricultural production.
On the north-west portion of the municipality is Mount Kalatungan, the
second highest peak in the province with an elevation of 2,824 metres
(9,265 ft). Its ranges occupy about 21 percent of the municipality’s total
land area.
Climate
The climate of Pangantucan is of Type IV of the Modified Corona’s
Climate Classification. It is characterized by more or less evenly
distributed rainfall throughout the year with rare incidence of tropical
cyclone. Rainfall distribution variation (Figure 1) is influenced by rain
shadow effect of the mountainous belt on the eastern side of Bukidnon
and by the presence of adjoining hills and mountain ranges.
Based on the data from 1995–2000, Pangantucan has an annual
average rainfall of 2,764.60 millimetres (108.843 in). June is the

Personalized chili and garlic sauce look fantastic across social media.
Price Strategy
Price is the quantity of payment or compensation given by one
party to the other in order to get the return for goods or services. It is
essential as it determines our projects profit and survival. Two factors
affect our pricing strategy to maximize our earnings: internal and
external factors. In our business, the external factor that affects our
pricing strategy is marketing management cost, while the external
factor is the competitive environment.
Place Strategy
Place strategy is also known as distribution strategy, wherein
the organization decides the mode of distribution for the product. The
pacing strategy plays an essential role in the product’s marketing
strategy for development. We have chosen the market, cafe, or
restaurant adjacent of any Barangay in Pangantucan areas. Our main
target market is food chain owners and street vendors or staff and
students.
Furthermore, we also decided to make it easy for our customers
to find our product by using the shopping platform apps, Shopee apps.
We chose these apps because Shopee is the go-to platform if you want
to start selling online at a low cost and big money, which is
commission-free selling and free shipping.
Promotion Strategy
Promotion is the marketer’s communication to provide
information to different parties about the products. It is a
communication process that involves data, persuasion, and influence
on the customer. In order to get customers’ attention and obtain a more
13
significant market shares. We used digital marketing, internet
networking, or social media marketing.
We have set up social media accounts, Instagram, Facebook,
Shopee, and Blogspot, to create awareness among people about our
product. The marketing team will upload the promotional content to the
social media platforms. This is because most people will be asked to
stay at home due to this pandemic. With that, an online platform is the
easiest way to buy anything that we want without going out.
Moreover, online shopping has become trending in this era, and
all these social media sites have become the hottest websites,
especially Instagram, which has a high rating in advertising. Many
companies use social media for advertising their product and service
by putting their corporate information in their account.

smoothly throughout the week and meets our objectives.
In the town of Pangantucan Bukidnon, there is really no serious
competition for Garlic Chili Products. In other stores they serve similar
products but does not really suits to the demand or wants of the
consumers.
Potential buyers seeks for good and high quality Garlic Chili
Products. The most important factor, hands down, for the success of
our company is satisfied customers. Word of mouth is our biggest way
of building clientele.
15
4 Supplier
We have discussed and surveyed so many suppliers on the best
way of providing quality materials at a reasonable price. Customer
satisfaction is the biggest hope that a company can give as a company
to them. Thus, we have decided on the following suppliers as our
supplies providers.
Market Vendors in Pangantucan Bukidnon
Jhon’s Chili Sauces are consumed by market suppliers. They were
selling chili and garlic in the market, almost every area in Pangantucan
has this type of ingredients, with the land area of our municipality
anyone who chooses to engage in this type of business in any part of
this province is sure going to get good returns on his or her investment
as long as they are doing the right thing.
There is indeed a wide range of available customers, so our target
market can’t be restricted to just a group of people, but all those who
love chili sauces and of course those who would want to try it out.
5 Process Planning
When it comes to sauces, everyone will quite agree that the market
trend changes from time to time. Producers are researching for new
innovations that will keep them in business. Any production company
that wants to remain relevant in the industry must be willing to explore
and come up with a product that tastes unique from what is available in
the market. In the sauce or condiments production industry, chili sauce
is one of the rising star, there are different types of sauce offered by
other companies including Sweet and Sour Sauce, Fish Sauce, Shrimp
Paste Sauce, Soy Sauce and Vinegar Dipping Sauce, Barbecue Sauce
and etc.

2 Conclusions
Based on the business plan or business proposal example that
we have made, John’s Garlic and Chili Sauce will give us profitable
returns. The assumptions that we made for these three months are
conservative as we know that our project is still in the beginning, are
the marketing and promotion are still in the early phase.
The project sets systematic planning to reach the target. Thus,
we are very confident that our business will be able to grow in the
future and become the most popular brand in the Province of
Bukidnon.
We will always ensure that everyone in the business cooperates
well in order to achieve the projects target profit. We hope that it will be
the best product we can offer to the municipality that produces health
benefits for the customer of Pangantucan.
3 Recommendations
Every business will need to face many obstacles to keep
sustained success in the industry. As a new business, we also must
face many things to achieve our company’s goal.
First of all, before we successfully finalized the product we were
going to sell, everyone was giving their opinions and ideas. This leads
to different products and services on the list. So we need to vote for the
best one. We had faced a healthy argument on choosing the best
product for the business. After brainstorming for a week, we finally
came out with the idea of producing a home-made product that none of
the Pangantucanon’s can have.
We centralized the environmental issues and finally decided to
produce John’s Chili and Garlic Sauce. Moreover, we also have to face
a conflict in choosing the supplier for our business. We need to find the
best supplier that offers the most reasonable price for us to produce
the sauce. The cost must be tele with our starting capital.
21
To solve this, everyone has done their research on all the
possible suppliers until we find the best one to choose.
Finally, the issue of pandemic covid-19 is also making our job
harder. We cannot go outside to search for the supplier and also
cannot meet up with each other. So, to solve the problem, we decided
to use the online platform to reach our suppliers and customers.
We also keep in touch with each other among the company
members via Facebook.
Based on all the problems and solutions, we can see that we are
managing to face every obstacle in our business journey if we
cooperate well. Besides, the business goals and objectives make us
stay motivated and committed to doing our jobs.
