Set Induction
1. Teacher played the tape (sound of tapir). 2. Teacher asks pupils to guess the sound from the tape. 2. Teacher showed the picture of Tapir to the pupils. 2. Teacher asks question to pupils: >>what is the name of this animal? >>what is the colour of tapir? >>where do they live? >>what do they eat?

Pre Listening
2. Divide pupils into a group. 3. Get each group to read one paragraph aloud. 4. Go through any difficult
words. Encourage pupils to used dictionary. 5. Discuss what the chief rat and his friends did to the Tapir. Ask PS whether it would have been possible for him to have done it on his own. Draw PS attention to the fact that working together brings the desired result faster.

While Listening
1. Teacher shows the picture of tapir again. 2. Teacher pastes the word cards to the picture shown. 3. Teacher draws pupils attention to the words on word cards. >>Shiny,Handsome,Blac k,Strong, Big 4. Teacher uses the notes in the Remember box to explain PS the adjectives. 5. Teacher highlights and uses the phrase / sentence level from the story for better understanding. E.g.: a) His body was shiny and
black.

c) Long ago the tapir was the most handsome animal in the forest. 6. Teacher shows another examples by including the nouns that the adjective modify. E.g. :
