1. From the 40 tips on becoming a better student, which among the following is most effective for you? Least
effective for you? Identify 5 each and explain why. (25 pts.)

For me, the five most effective tips for becoming a better student are;

Create a rough weekly schedule; I do this all the time. Being organized helps me with my subjects and lectures, and
it makes me more responsible with my time management for the other things I want to do within those weeks.

Don't multitask; as I said, I like being organized with my schedule, especially with my tasks, activities, and hobbies,
so I need to focus on one task at a time.

Cultivate the belief that intelligence isn't a fixed trait, like my fatehr always tell me "hindi totoong pinanganak
tayong matalino, sa pagbabasa at pagsusulat nahuhubog ang kaisipan ng bawat magagaling na tao lalo na't kung
ang iyong serbisyo ay para sa bayan" It all depends on us on how we will shape our future, the knowledge that we
learn on how we weill use it in our daily lives, and how our the opportunities that were given to us to study can
give back to the people that help us.

Manage your stress; make sure that your mind and body are ready before studying because; I've experienced that
too much stress can trigger migraine and vomiting. My stomach feels like twirling that I can't do my activities
anymore. Stress can be a burden to our daily activities; it can change our moods from time to time and frustrate us
because we tend to overthink our future.

Have a specific plan or objective for each study session; having goals helps me understand the lessons more, make
key points, list the topic's supporting details, and outline the different important parts of the lesson.

For me, the five least effective tips for becoming a better student are;

Relying on systems, not motivation; It's hard to study when our mind and heart don't follow the same harmony; I
have trouble focusing when I'm not motivated, and my emotions control me most of the time that I need to
process.

Take notes during class, and I take notes after every class because multitasking is hard for me. And listening to my
teacher's facts and details that are not in our books.

Ask lots of questions; this is not the least effective but not most the teacher doesn't listen to students inquire,
especially if the questions are about our society. Some are having a hard time understanding that studying is not
just about the four corners of our classroom.
Write everything down, and It takes time for me to write everything down; most of the time, I understand my
lessons and the main idea when I create clue words and techniques on how I will remember those lessons. I
recommend flashcards and exam-like activities than writing everything down.

Reward yourself. Sometimes your purpose in studying is enough to be your reward.

2. What other tips can you think of or you do as a student that are not listed in the module? Identify at least 3 and
explain briefly each. (25 pts.)

Color coordinate highlighters

Outlining with different highlighters helped me improve to define what are the essential details and remember
the small details of the topic example of this is when I study English literature and history;

Red, meaningful names, dates, and places

Yellow, vocabulary
Green, quotes
Blue, Important details
Pink, Terminologies

System of taking notes

My favorite technique in writing my notes is the Outlining method. Most of the time, I list essential points of the
topic and use indention to order the related matters underneath.

I also use the box and bullet it emphasizes the main idea of the lessons and the supporting details for the views.

Stop overthinking and Procrastination.

Most of the time, when our dream is so big, many of us don't realize that we are so worried about what might
happen in the future that it becomes an obstacle to our dreams because it causes us to be anxious about what
we are doing. Whether we are doing enough to achieve the goals creates fear in our future.

To avoid this is to focus and find the purpose for why we are doing this. Just think of the present and let the
decisions you make dictate what may happen in the future
Scenario:

You are about to study for your final examinations and it is as if the universe conspired for a heavy final’s
week, all your subjects provided at least three
new reading materials and topics one week (7 days) before the examination period.

Create a diagram or schedule using at least ten of the metacognitive strategies, skills, and studying
techniques mentioned in this lesson on how you would prepare for the next seven days b efore your final
examinations.

• Meditate prepare your mind and body

for the examination and set aside any
plans that may distract your review
• Metacognition plan how to study,
schedule the subjects that you will
review and determine the method that
would be suitable for the subject

you remember.
• Break down the task in smaller and more manageable details
