WHY CORPORATE COMMUNICATION APPEALS TO ME?

Corporate communication is the art of conveying company’s message in a manner that is

clear, concise, and professional, while still being interesting and engaging. Corporate
communication is the general term for all the ways a company interacts with its stakeholders,
i.e., shareholders, customers, employees, and the public as a whole. It is often referred to as
internal communication as well as external communication. In other words, internal corporate
communication is directed at employees and stakeholders, while external corporate
communication is directed to customers and suppliers. Corporate communications can be
delivered using several tools including public relations materials (such as press releases),
marketing materials (such as brochures, advertisements, and newsletters), telephone calls,
e-mails or even face-to-face meetings and speeches.

I think there are several reasons why corporate communication appeals to me. First, the
ability to influence others is so much fun. I have always been fascinated with marketing and
communication, and what better way to use them than in a professional environment. The
idea of influencing others is really appealing. It makes me happy knowing I can make a
difference in the business world. I love being able to take my company's message and share
it with my co-workers, peers, and stakeholders. I have gained valuable experience working
on branding design back at my previous job, which has been very helpful with this line of
work. Now, I can commit and use my skills and experience to make a better image for the
company. In addition, I think businesses must speak with one voice when it comes to their
marketing materials. It's also essential for companies to be mindful of how they present
themselves, especially when it comes to their websites and social media channels. Suppose
the company or organisation aren't mindful of how they communicate with their customers.
In that case, people are going to perceive us as either unprofessional or unreliable, and
there's no reason for them to do business with us. Hence, where I play my role in this
corporate communication to influence and control people see and listen about our company.

Second, corporate communication helps me to understand people better. It’s like a game of
chess. I like to go through the possible moves and tactics to get my audience on my side.
But often, it can be hard to engage with the audience. I like to play the game with myself and
ask several questions, for example; Who am I trying to communicate with? (target audience)
How do I want them to feel about my company? (emotional appeal) What do I want them to
think? (logical appeal) What is the purpose of communication? (point of contact) What are
some tools that I could use for this job? (media options). From there, I can learn and
understand how my audience sees and listen to my company so I can deliver the company’s
message more easily and accurately. This process, even though challenging but gives me
satisfaction.

Third, corporate communication helps me with networking in corporate world. This is

because people of different culture and of different generation are present in this world of
business, and the only way to get along with them is to communicate with them in a positive
manner (public relations). This will help in the process of gaining trust from others. Once I
started working with corporate communication, I have come across with so many different
kinds of people who are so different in their thinking, culture or even language. I have to
work with all these people, which means that I have to be very patient and polite with them. I
have to understand their work culture and adapt myself accordingly in order to avoid
conflicts. And when in conflict situations, I need to be flexible enough in order to find out a
solution that would satisfy everyone involved in that issue.

In conclusion, corporate communication is appealing to me. It is one of the greatest

professions in the world. It's fast-moving, challenging and rewarding. It is also where art and
science meet in the service of commerce. It applies contemporary strategic thinking to create
individualized messages that deliver business results. Corporate Communication
practitioners combine technical expertise with an understanding of the psychology of human
decision making. These skills enable them to create effective messages that motivate people
to act.
