I am reaching out in regards to what your company can do to reduce the effects of climate
change. Your company has been making great efforts to the cause and I want to make sure you
have more information on other efforts you can make. Climate change has been known to
make a big difference in how intense storms may become. Over the years, climate change may
have intensified hurricane winds, making hurricanes even more destructive. The warming
temperatures have also caused destruction to some of Earth's natural storm defenders,
wetlands and coral reefs. Readers will be informed about hurricanes, their destructiveness, and
how climate change affects this destruction. Readers will also be informed on how to reduce
the effects of climate change in their everyday lives and how companies can reduce the effects
of climate change.

Summary
Climate change has been changing our world for years. The focus of this paper is hurricanes,
but there are so many other examples out there. Climate change has made hurricanes stronger
throughout the years and have also destroyed some of our natural defenders. We must act now
to end this destruction. Lives and property are at risk from these intense storms. If everyone
makes an effort everyday to reduce climate change, then we can make a positive impact on our
planet.

How Climate Change has Changed Hurricanes

For hurricanes to form, the ocean water needs to be at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the system
needs an atmosphere with differing temperatures, the system needs to be within 200 miles
from the equator, and the system must have a constant wind speed or direction. Although
there is no evidence to suggest that climate change increases the occurrence of hurricanes, it
does increase the intensity of them. Climate change has caused sea-level rise which produces
more intense rain events for hurricanes. More intense winds may also be prevalent, which
increases the category of the storm. Our natural protectors, reefs and wetlands are also being
affected. Coral reefs break waves early and therefore reduce flooding. Wetlands lower the blow
of storm surge which also protects us. Increasing temperatures in the recent years has harmed
our coastal protectors. These natural defenders protect our life and property, so we should also
protect them.

How to Reduce the Effects of Climate Change

Humans have made many advancements in technology and society to make life easier. All the
advancements we have made have unfortunately damaged the world we live in. It is our
responsibility to reduce the effects of climate change and make a difference. Although we can
do things in our everyday lives that can help, large corporations should also be pitching in to
save our planet. Some small things we can do in our everyday lives to reduce the effects of
climate change are, carpooling, eating less meat, using reusable materials, and shopping
secondhand. Some great reusable materials you could invest in are reusable water bottles,
shopping bags, lunch bags, and straws. Carpooling emits less carbon dioxide, demanding less
meat emits less greenhouse gas, using reusable materials lowers waste, and shopping
secondhand lowers waste and pollution. Some things your company can do to reduce the
effects of climate change are, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, waste,
and the use of one-use plastics. Companies can encourage carpooling, lower the occurrence of
business trips, and use energy-efficient devices. Lastly, raising awareness among employees and
customers about how we can save the planet will also make a great impact. If everyone makes
small contributions to the cause, we can all save the planet together.

Conclusion
It may be difficult to make changes in your life and in your companies, but it will be for the best.
Implementing small changes everyday and adding to them is a great way to start. With all of the
information and recommendations given here you can start incorporating them into your
everyday life. Not only should companies spread awareness, but individuals should too. Inform
your friends and family about ways they can keep the earth safe. Together we can change lives
and our world.

Recommendations
We all have a responsibility to keep the planet that we live on in good condition. Human
advancements may have made it easy and more convenient to do things that can impact our
planet in a negative way, but we can change our habits. It only takes two months to create a
new habit. A new habit that can make a positive impact on Earth. The responsibility falls not
only on our everyday actions, but also on the actions of corporations.

Here are some things you can do in your everyday life to reduce the effects of climate change.
● Carpool
● Eat less meat
