1. Before configure the software, make sure you already connect the echo sounder device & gps
to laptop.
2. After that, open the Hydrosurvey. Make sure for Hydrosurvey you have the Hardlock (dongle)
registered.

- Configure Hydrosurvey software:

1. After open the software, first click on New Project and it will show like below picture.
You can change the project name and coordinate system. If you don’t have the
projection, you can key in manually by go to Coordinate system.
2. In this coordinate system, go to projection, then edit the projection parameters
according to the projection you use at GPS. Then you can name the projection, for
example Selangor&KL projection, then click save.

3. After that, click at project again and tick coordinate system, then choose Selangor&KL
projection that you just key in. Then click ok.
4. After finish create project, you need to settings the GPS and Sounder. Go to system
settings, then it will pop up like below picture. First, you need to configure GPS1 and
then configure the Sounder1.

5. At GPS settings, make sure the Antenna Type, Data Format is correct, then the Local
Port and Baud Rate. You can check the Port at Device Manager and the baud rate
need same with GPS baud rate. Make sure the port is not switch with the sounder
port. Then tick the start and go to Position.
6. In this position, you need to enter the x,y of the pole and the height of GPS to water
surface. After finish input x,y and z, go back to communication and click ok.

7. At Sounder settings, you can follow these settings below and the tick Wave Output &
Wave Save and go to Parameters.
8. In this parameters, you need to input the water line (from bottom of the tranducer to
water level). Then you can go to Position to set the echo sounder position.

9. After setting GPS & Sounder, you can go to settings -> Work mode and choose
measure mode. Then it will show the parameters like picture below. It will show x, y
and depth. Make sure the reading x & y is same with the reading at GPS controller.
10. After that, you can go to Setting -> Record control and it will show like picture below.
In this record control, you can set how you want to record the data, weather you want
to record by Distance, Time or by Space.
 By Distance : For example you set 10M, every 10M this software will
record 1 point.
 By Time : For example you set 20s, every 20 second this software will record
1 point.
 By Space : This function if you want to record certain place, it will record
1 1 point if you hit space button
11. After done setting, click OK. For start the recording, click the record button like picture
below and for stop record, click stop button.

12. After you store the point and want to export the data, you need to do 2 things. First,
you need to export the depth to .htt format, after that, you can export to the format
that you want.
 First to export .htt format. Go to Data Process -> Depth sample.
 At this depth sampling, click browse at Depth file.
 After you click browse button, it will take you to the depth folder. Then you
can see the file type .dep format. Click that file to do the sampling.
 After you open the file, it will show data like picture below. In this progress,
you can delete the point that you don’t want by clicking at the point, and click
eraser. If you don’t want to erase anything, you can just click sample and then
click export.

 Then you can rename the file and save.

 After you export .htt format, then you can export to the format that you want.
Go to Data Process -> Data Export.
 In this Data Export, open the .htt file that you just save by clicking open htt.
 After open htt file, click the File Type and choose what format you want. There
are 4 format type .dat, .txt, .csv and .dxf format. For example you choose .csv
format.
 Then choose the Format. Here you need to know what output that you
want. You can just choose the default or you can click custom and customize
what output that you want.

 This is the custom interface where you can customize what output that
you want. After you customize, just click OK.
 After that, you can click export and open the exported data in other software.
