As he continued to study in Binan, Rizal became outstanding in
Spanish, Latin and other subjects. He outperformed even those
who were older than him. Due to this, his classmates constantly
made false accusations of him which caused him to be
punished on a regular basis. As a result, his visits to his family
would feel like heaven to him and he would make up reasons
for him to stay even just a day longer.
Also, during his study there, the GOMBURZA brothers were
executed for fabricated charges which led the Filipinos terrified
and led Rizal to write El Filibusterismo many years later.

II. Compare and contrast your childhood and early education with Rizal’s own experiences in the same period.

Rizal’s early education was way different from mine. Mine was less harsh and was less subjective. My early education was filled with a lot of people with a little to no competition – in my
perspective. I was not taught by my mother in the same manner as his mother did, or was pressured to learn a lot at this age. All I knew in this age was to have fun, eat and sleep. I also
did not learn as much during these years and were not provoked by persecutions, bullying, or injustices. I had a peaceful early childhood and did not have to leave my family at an early
age. But, just Rizal, I had a loving and supportive family, since I am the youngest among the five siblings which were 10-18 years older than me.
