COMMUNITY WORK PROJECT PROPOSAL:

1.0 INTRODUCTION:
Homelessness has been a persistent problem within the city of Kuala Lumpur. The homeless
are often fatalities of fraud, bankruptcy, violence, or absconded from broken families that
simply have no place live or go to. They are often rejected from the society because of the
many unconventional perceptions surrounding them, indicating that they are valueless, dirty,
mentally ill or that they anyhow deserved what they are passing through.

1.1 OPERATION FEED THE HOMELESS:

The community work project which we tagged “OPERATION FEED THE HOMELESS”
is a target to distribute basic pre-packaged healthy meals and clean water around Kuala
Lumpur-City and its environs, where the homeless set of people are located. As a way of
participating in a community work, we have volunteered to serve meals up to 300 homeless
people. Our group is convinced that providing meals will improve the strength of the needy to
improve in their various circumstances and challenges.

We affirmed that nobody should go to bed starving. That is the reason we believe that helping
the unprivileged and homeless sets in our communities will help to remove the stigma towards
the homeless and provides them with a sense of belonging and dignity.

Through this program, we will experience the skills which are needed when dealing with the
less privileged and the homeless. Moreover, it will also strengthen our teamwork skills by
having to figure seamlessly side with our group to tug off this great event.

1.2 VISION:
Our target to provide care and thus the hope of a replacement life for the poor and homeless.

1.3 MISSION:
Our Mission on this community work could also be defined as a means of participating in a
social work that will benefit the Homeless, the unprivileged and the community and to interact,
speak and encourage as to gain more information about their situation. Another mission is to

3
break these social stigmas and re-integrate them back to the society by the way of counselling,
playing, street feedings, and simply sitting down to listen to their circumstances.

Well, it’s a chance for MAHSA University’s students to undertake this community service
through the assignment under the subject of moral education. It is a crucial task for everyone
to support community work and to make it peaceful and wonderful. Sometimes, it is easy to
say than appear. So, this is often the time for us to spend our time wisely to participate in
community work., Mrs Mazlina Muhamad, who is our lecturer also encouraged us to embark
on this project.

1.4 OUR OBJECTIVES / GOALS:

1. To foster togetherness among individuals within the community who are within the vicinity.
2. To nurture and apply the knowledge, skills and practice for such service.
3. To contribute all it takes in the community with our energy and power.
4. To mould the personality and understand the concept of cooperation and mutual help
between one another.
5. To foster the spirit of cohabitation during a community regardless of religion, race, and
beliefs.
6. To be a patriotic citizen, caring, and responsible towards society and thus the state.
7. To adopt a healthy lifestyle and practice is typically ready to help others who need help.

2.0 KUALA LUMPUR CITY THE PREFERRED LOCATION FOR THE

COMMUNITY WORK:
Kuala Lumpur City Hall management has designed a particular location in the city centre that
feeding activities are only allowed. These centres are supervised by the DBKL and the Federal
Territories Ministry. The three locations for the feeding activities are the following:
1. Jalan Medan Tuanku Homeless Service Centre.
2. Transit Centre for the Homeless at Jalan Pahang.
3. Anjung Singgah Homeless Centre

4
2.1 BRIEF HISTORY OF KUALA LUMPUR CITY CENTRE
Kuala Lumpur City is a multipurpose development area in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The area
is located within Jalan Ampang, Jalan Kia Peng and Jalan Pinang, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan
Binjai, there are some hotels around the area such as Mandarin Oriental, and Inter-Continental
Kuala Lumpur, G Tower, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Designed to be a city and located within
a city, there is 100-acres of land which the tallest twin buildings in the world was built, there
are shopping malls, and several hotels and office buildings. There is also a public park and
worship centres have also been built in the area which is open to everyone. The whole project
is cooled through district cooling located on the property.

2.2 ACTIVITY:
This charity movement/ visitation is planned to distribute Clothes, Food items like rice, create
of eggs, noodles, snacks, soaps and toiletries and other things which will be useful for them.
we have targeted to serve meals up to 300 homeless people. Our group is convinced that
providing meals will improve the strength of the needy to improve in their various
circumstances and challenges. This group is made up of nine persons which formed a team of
3 persons for each team, thus we have 3 teams, each to serve 100 homeless people, bringing it
to the total of 300 targeted people by 3 teams.

5
Our team who felt the importance to share and to do something about the less privileged and
homelessness issue in KL reckons in the power of embracing and restoring the dignity of the
poor and hungry. We also believe that providing food is one of the best ways to inspire the less
privileged. Once they are physically and mentally nourished, they will be more energized to
attend to the work at hand. The food we give out is a contact means to interact with the poor
and the homeless people and it will extend and pervade way to reform them, thus we need to
be there friend as the part of community work.

Additionally, it is included in our schedule is to interact, speak and encourage them to gain
more information about their situation. As such, this social work is dedicated to eradicating the
stigma of being poor effectively. Not only providing warm meals and drinks, but we have also
made provision for the homeless community by providing them with basic necessities like

4.0 DETAILS OF THE ACTIVITY:
GROUP ONE: Jalan Medan Tuanku Homeless Service Centre.
Having an opportunity to redeem and make a difference in someone's life is an accomplishment
with immeasurable benefits to all parties involved. It is a cherished act to feed someone who
had not received a hot well-packaged meal, home-cooked meal, nutritious meal in a long time,
regardless of his or her situations. It warms our hearts and souls as it fills the body and spirit
of the receiver. Participation in community work and service always benefits all the parties
involved in many ways.

GROUP TWO: Transit Centre for the Homeless at Jalan Pahang.
One of the basic needs for life in the first stage is food. All human beings have a very basic
need for food to sustain and to give daily energy needed for functioning and survival.

2. SAMSON ILESANMI
3. HARRISON OKAFOR

GROUP THREE: Anjung Singgah Homeless Centre.

As our teams provide these vital services to the hungry, we will hope to receive unexpected
blessings. There is something very inherent about being able to give someone who is hungry
food as a mother feeds her child. Food sustains and gives comfort and safety.

Excellently, it's been a ride into the planet of self-sacrifice. community work has given us
numerous insights on things which are said about what community work is, it benefits to the
individual and therefore the community at large, there's a keynote of which we will be able to
use to end this proposal report, with a quote from Anthony Robbins which one of his best
quotes, He said thus "IT’S NOT WHAT WE GET. BUT WHO WE BECOME, WHAT WE
CONTRIBUTE, that provides aiming to OUR LIVES”? we will now understand that to form
aiming to our lives, we'd like to play important roles by contributing our own part in the least
times for the expansion and development of our community whether we are purchased such
services or not. a method of achieving such a goal has been the topic of discusses titled
"COMMUNITY WORK". THANKS.
