 Rules & Regulations

• Entry fee will be refunded,if informed prior to 7 days before the event date and STRICTLY NON
REFUNDABLE after that,as arrangements according to the registration has to be done by the organizer.

• System of Play - The latest FIDE Rules in force shall apply and the SWISS system will be followed.

• Mode of Tournament - Total Nine rounds shall be played.

• Tie Break : In case of a tie, the latest FIDE Rules shall come in to effect. The Cash prizes will not be
shared.

• Time Control - 30 Minutes each with 30 seconds increment from move number one.

• Default Time ( Walk Over Time) : The default time will be 15 minutes.

• Electronic Devices All electronic items including wrist watches (all type of watches) will not be allowed
in the tournament hall.

• Eligibility:

All rated & Unrated players.

1. Only players who have not crossed the FIDE Rating of 1599 in the past 36 months prior to the start of
the Event are eligible to participate.

2. Players who finished 1st or 2nd in any rating restricted tournament are not eligible to play in any rating
restricted tournament for 1 year from the date of such achievement.

3. Players who is found guilty (as a above rules) at any stage of the tournament will be withdrawn from
the tournament & entry fees shall not be refunded.

• AICF Player Registration - AICF registration is compulsory. AICF Registration fee is Rs.250/- for the
year 2022-2023. As per latest AICF regulation dated 31.07.2017, it is informed that from 01st September
2017, all AICF player registrations will be accepted only through online. Player's registration should be
done well before the start of event.

• Existing Registration -For existing players please go to your player page in https://prs.aicf.in/players
and click on extend membership
• New (Fresh) Registration —https://prs.aicf.in/new-register For fresh AICF player registration, players
are requested to keep their scanned passport size photograph and birth certificate and a valid email
address (unique) not used by any other person/ player for AICF player registration. Note: Only passport
size (less than IMB) photographs in jpeg format should be uploaded.

• Protests - Protests if any, against the decision of the Chief Arbiter shall be made in writing with protest
fee of Rs.1000/-within 15 minutes after completion of the game to committee. The protest fee will be
refunded if the appeal is upheld.

• Appeals Committee — Before the commencement of the Tournament, appeals committee comprising
of five members, will be formed from the senior participants present in the players meeting. The
appeals committee decision will be final and binding on all the players concerned.

• Withdrawals - A player may withdraw at any stage of the event, after informing the chief arbiter in
writing.

• Players qualified for more than one prizes will be considered only for higher prize

• Participation certificate in the form of E-Certificates will be awarded to all the participants. Merit
Certificates will be awarded to all Prize winners during the Prize Distribution.

• 2nd STARWARZ Below 1600 FIDE Rating Chess Tournament is a public event that will be photographed
and filmed.Players and spectators images may be photographed any time in the event. Yourparticipation
in the tournament will be accepted as your consent that you understand that Cognizance Enterprises
Pvt Ltd has the right to broadcast your image in conjunction with our event, promotions related to the
event, on our website, through our social media channels, and any other media related to our event.

• PLAYERS WILL BE ADDED IN A TEMPORARY WHATSAPP GROUP FOR ALL OFFICIAL

COMMUNICATIONS RELATED TO THE EVENT.KINDLY MAKE SURE TO GIVE THE WHATSAPP NUMBER
WHILE REGISTERING.
