With her love for color since she was a kid, her strong desire to learn as well as patience, Janet started venturing into baking, handicraft and painting late last year. In January 2011, Janet started selling her cookies, handicrafts and paintings on Facebook and via email orders (handmadebyjanet@gmail.com). You can also get latest info from her blog at http://handmadebyjanet.blogspot.com. As a gesture of thanks to everyone (including family members, relatives, friends and teachers) for your support, Janet is contributing 10% of everything she sells as donation to a charity home (Rumah Sayangan @ http://rumahsayangan.org/).

About Janet
Born in 1989, Janet was diagosed with intractable epilepsy (epilepsy/seizure that cannot be controlled with medication) at 1 years old. Unlike other epileptics, she has no awareness or control of a seizure attack i.e. she would collapse anytime anywhere. Coupled with epilepsy, Janet had also learning difficulties and was classified as a slow learner at age 7 and intellectually disabled when she was 16. Being told by doctors that epilepsy does not necessarily contribute to learning disability, many years was spent searching for answers as to why she struggled academically. It was not until September 2005 (Janet then aged 16) through Starjumps assessment that it was flagged that visual processing had a serious impact on her ability to learn. Once this was addressed, she started showing improvement in her learning and eventually the birth of Janets Cookies, Art & Handicraft House
