First of all, the researchers are very thankful to Almighty God for giving them
strength, hope and hard work in making this research. He enlightened their minds that is
why they come up to this idea and content. Without His guidance, maybe they cannot
start and finished this study for the meantime. There is no word that can measure their

To the supportive parents of the researchers, Mr. and Mrs. Benjie T. Longos,
Mr. and Mrs. Marcelito Balmoria, Mr. and Mrs. Jemmy A. Juanite Sr., Mr. and

To the research informants, Nueva Estrella National High School Teachers,
thank you for sharing unordinary experiences with regards to experiences on modular
printed classes. Without their cooperation, the researchers cannot make the right analysis
of their study since the informants are the vital instrument to finish this.
Most of all, the classmates and friends of the researchers who made their
research journey a memorable one. Despite all those arguments and misunderstandings,

ABSTRACT
Using a modified Van Kaam method by Moustakas (1994), this study explored
and described the lived experiences of teachers in Nueva Estrella National High School
under Modular Distance Learning. Five (5) members of teachers are informants who
shared their experiences in facing new normal modular distance education.
The emerged themes derived from the study are (1) Transitioning Traditional to
Modular Distance Education: Adjustments for hurdles to overcome (2) Handling New
Learning: A great challenge for a quality teaching (3) Diversified Teaching Methods:
Ways to effective learning (4) Modular Distance Learning: Not a hindrance to build a
proper interaction with students (5) Embracing New Normal: Opportunities to new
learning and improving skills. The emergent themes explained how teachers dealt with
the struggles of modular distance learning. The most common cases of this is difficulties
on preparing modules and dealing stressful students which lead teachers to struggle and
had a hard time. It is necessary to conclude that teachers who are involved find it difficult
to adjust and embrace new environment of education.

The results of the study provide remedy and recommendations to the persons
involved that should formulate programs and make actions that would serve and solve
this problem teachers have faced. With the proposed programs and ways presented to the
study findings, this will encourage people involved to cooperate on addressing this issue.
