In this day and age, it goes without saying that Volunteeing is one of the most popular

issues among students. While some people subscribe the viewpoint that it is essential
for students to spend their summer holiday getting involved in vonluntary activities,
the opponents show their disapproval of this idea, they claim that students should
have recreational activities after a stressful and tired school year. From my
perspective, volunteering will offer students many benefits such as life skills,
knowledge, experience and community value.

First and foremost, taking part in extra-curricular activities help students develop
their life skills from communicaton, collaboration to leadership. Their school hardly
incorporate those crucial skills into teaching curriculum because of the lack of time
and facilities. However, in a period of social development, its is tremedously
important for students to be equiped with soft skills, which is believed to bring
students a great significance. When participating in summer vonlunteer
organizations, many students will become more creative, inventive, active and self-
sufficient, which can be regarded as a typical instance of the outcome of this activity.

In addition, volunteering allows students to broaden their horizons about diffirent

aspects of life through their real-life activities. It’s a perfect way to navigate their
career path and future options. Having real-life experience can enhance a student’s
education outside of the classroom. In fact, employers are more likely to choose a
candidate with volunteering experience. Students having volunteer experience are not
only boosting their resumes but are effectively standing-out among other potential
candidates.  This useful activity also offer students great opportunities to be aware of
social issues and responsible as a community member. Taking part in an
environmental campaign about plastic, students will be knowledgeable about the
detrimental impact it has caused and they will raise their awarness to reuse, reduce
and recycle plastic material to preserve our common living enviroment.

Last but not least, volunteering has an great effect on students’ physical and mental
health. Students can make new friends, develop new relationships and realease stress.
Instead of chatting online, they can talk face to face, which is believed to be faster and
easier. It can also prevent students from getting addicted to digital devices.
Volunteering increases social interaction , which can decrease depression. According
to a 2009 study by Johns Hopkins University, volunteering can actually increase your
brain’s functioning. Volunteering helps you stay physically and mentally active—
which can impact your health later down the line. As a consequense, I believe that
your life expectancy will certainly be extended. That’s the reason why students should
spend their holiday meaningfully, be dedicated to making a difference for the
community instead of spending the whole holiday sticking to senseless digital devices.

All thing considered, for all these reasons, I recommend students should be motivated
to participate in voluntary activities. Volunteering is an useful, meaningful and helpful
activities for students during summertime. Not only do students make the world better
but they also prevent themselves from addiction and bad consquences of society.
