Some people believe that children have the freedom to make mistakes, while others argue that
adults should prevent them from doing so. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

View 1:

+ learn through trials and errors⇒ improve through their experience in problem solving + benefit their
overall development in terms of academic field as well as dealing with practical issues ⇒ easily adapt
and manage to tackle their own issues as stepping into the adulthood >< reliant on parents when facing
obstacles => unable to address them on their own=> hinder their growth, esp in their career path

+ creative thinking: not afraid of making mistakes⇒ more likely to try different ways to express their
feelings and ideas/// think outside of the box⇒ cultivating creative thinking => crucial regarding job
opportunity=> large organizations require dynamic leaders with novel and innovational mindsets can
owing to their adaptability to the ceaselessly changing world.

EX: Occupations such as graphic designer or research scientist involve much of creativity and
intellectual-curiosity=> letting children freely make mistake would be of great benefit if they long for
pursue such careers

+ mental health problems: control over every step of their offspring in the school// pressurizing them so
as to get high marks ⇒ lack of confidence + easily experience mental breakdown if making mistakes
( thinking that’s the end of the world ⇒ lose hope// depression//anxiety/negative self talk) ⇒ less likely
to make any effort since they think that it would be unnecessary ⇒ hinder their growth as they cannot
cultivate their potential

EX: Subgroup analyses revealed that Chinese middle school students were at heightened risk of anxiety,
while students during entrance exams were at heightened risk of depression. This is due to the constant
pressure they are being put on=> Students if failing those tests will find life meaningless and thus are not
willing to figure out another way to make a turning point which would contribute to higher possibility of
being unemployed

+ Irreversible consequences: children cannot distinguish between right and wrong=> providing freedom
to make mistakes without a limit makes them more likely to commit irrevocable wrongdoings =>
adversely affect their growth

EX: Children who make big mistakes like taking up drugs or alcohol => easily become an addict=> the
need to use more drug to satisfy themselves make them more likely to commit criminal activities=> if
being caught their future would be deteriorated
