The care of grandchildren nowadays is often left to the grandparents as it is seen as the easiest

and quickest way but that is something that should not be done. This shows that it is actually
troublesome for those who have aged. I strongly agree that parents should not take care of their
grandchildren because they need adequate rest, it can also affect their health and their physical
condition is at their lowest.

In contrast to my opinion, some people perceive elderly people should care for their grandchildren, It
is said so because, if the grandchildren are taken care of by the parents, it can help in strengthening
the relationship, being more trustworthy and not incurring much expense. Therefore, they are more
likely to send their children to be cared for by their grandparents.

Thus, I agree with the statement that elderly should not care for their grandchildren as elderly need
adequate rest. Regardless of that , I stand strong with my opinion that elderly people should not care
for their grandchildren it will be a lot of work for them. First of all, we know they also have their own
responsibilities for their daily preparations. If it is added to the care of their grandchildren, it will lead
to more work and responsibilities. Furthermore at such an age they really need a lot of rest because
they are not as strong as when they were young before. Some sleep experts suggest that seniors
actually need less sleep than other age groups. However, as we get older, we experience lighter sleep,
waking up throughout the night, and may have more difficulty getting to bed.

Next , I agree with the statement that elderly should not care for their grandchildren as it can affect
their health. Although there are some points which supported the opposing point, but from my point
of view it can affect their health because there is an increase in the responsibility. Grandparents may
have limited energy and physical health problems that make raising their grandchildren more
challenging. Some grandparents also neglect their health due to a lack of financial resources or
because of the demands associated with caring for their grandchildren. Other grandparents experience
significant anxiety and depression (AAMFT).

Last but not least, I agree with the statement that elderly should not care for their grandchildren
because their physical condition is at their lowest. As we know the elderly are already aged in the age
range of 60 and above. Their physical strength is not as strong as our young people, so caring for
grandchildren can be a burden to them because they do not have the necessary ability and capability to
take care of them especially if their grandchildren are very irritable and rude. Indirectly this also
interferes with their mental health.

In a nutshell, I agree that grandparents should not look after their grandkids because there are
some negative consequences that are recognised rather than beneficial outcomes. My first explanation
is that it can make senior people feel fatigued since they haven't had enough sleep. Second, stress and
the duty of caring for the elderly might have an impact on their health. Last but not least, they lack
physical strength and ability. If we don't intervene, this could lead to a strained relationship between
the elderly and their children's parents.
