THE ELDERLY SHOULD LIVE IN NURSING HOME

The elderly are defined as individuals aged 60 years and above. I am sure that
our parents will reach the age group soon. So, it is very important for us to provide
them a good and comfortable life. However, nowadays many children decide to
send their parents to old folks due to some reasons.
In my opinion, I am disagree with the statement that says the elderly should live in
nursing home because they deserve to get on with family members and it is
beneficial for elderly people to spend the last phase of their life in the beloved
home. Thus, there are three arguments why I disagree with the statement.
First of all ,the elderly is the person who taking good care of us when we were
young.When we become adult we need to take care of them back not placing them
at nursing home.This is because placing the elderly in the nursing homes will cause
us disregard the most significant responsible as the sons or daughter which is to
take care of our parents back when they gets old or sick.It can be considered as the
sons and daughter obligation to return back what our parents had done for us when
we were young.Besides that,the elderly also did not have anyone besides their
family to attend to their need and due to the fact that we as children have spent a
lifetime with our parents ,surely we can manage what is need for them.For
instance, if the elderly were put in the nursing home without any proper care in
terms of their medication or the appropriate treatments,this will affect their health
because they did not receive care from someone who understands their nature.
On the other hand,children dumping their parents to nursing home portrays no
sense of family.Despite busy working,children ought to take care of their parents in
a way of showing gratitude to them for bringing us into this world.Parents
pampered their children until they can walk on their own feet.Therefore,children
carried the responsiblity to pay them back on their older aged.For instance,the
siblings can take turn in taking care of their parents every month so that the parents
can cherish the love from each of their child.The aged may feel abandoned because
children spend long hours at the workplace leaving their sick or old parents alone
at home. Consequently, the elderly often have to battle depression and loneliness.
Also, if they are alone at home, they may not get immediate care and attention in a
medical emergency.Thus,the children play the main role in giving the best
attention to their parents as they know their parents well compared to
outsiders.Parents will feel that they are being appreciated by their own
blood.Therefore,I strongly disagreed that parents should live in nursing home.
 In addition, taking care our parents should not be an issue because maid
service available. This service is established particularly to attend to the elderly in
their own home. The maid will ease the burden of children to care the parents. If
you busy with work, you should not to worry because the maid will care your
parents. The maid also will preparing meals,bathing and dressing because that is
their job really. They will making sure the elderly consume their medications that
they might need. We must not hesitant with the career of private nurses because
their skilled nursing care unite where the nurses and rehabilitation specialist would
determine what type of care or treatment would be done for our parents. With this
statement , the children can go outside freely while not neglecting the needs of
their parents. Every children must remember that our parents cared for us when we
were young , so it should be only natural for us to do same when they old.
In conclusion, those are the clear reasons why I disagree with the statement.
The elderly should not live in nursing home because they are the people who take a
good care of us when we were young and the children who are dumping their
parents to nursing home portrays no sense of family. Moreover, the elderly can
stay with their family because maid service available. Lastly, I hope that all
children will always remember their own flesh and blood no matter what happen
because the parents sacrifice is very valuable to be paid.
