REFLECTIONS

         On 4th October 2019, we went to Cameron Highland for our assignment work. We had
already divided into our group assignment. Cameron Highland is a highland situated at
about 150 kilometres north of  Kuala  Lumpur, and about 20 km. The first place that we
explored is CHiMP, Montane Park, Cameron Highland. CHiMP is a place where the collection
of many species in west Malaysia is located. This forest consists of over 3300 species. We want
to explore this forest more but unfortunately, the plan was canceled because of the rain. For
the next day, we went to  MARDI.  MARDI  Agrotechnology  Park is an agricultural research
station at Tanah Rata. This park is divided into six main areas which are English Garden, Herb
Garden, Orchid Garden and Rose Garden. We need to find 20 species for our assignment and
the time given for us was from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm. We explored the park and found 20
species. We found out there are more than 300 species at the park so we don’t have a
problem to find 20 species and not to overlap with another group. At this place, I found out
that not easy to do basic care on a plant. Therefore, we need to appreciate all the plants that
have given by our god.

Based on my experience throughout this fieldtrip, i learned that we must always communicate with
each other because as a group, we must be able to communicate about every task we do in order to
cooperate as a group. For example,  when we were searching for some species of flowers in CHIMPS and
MARDI, we divided our tasks as who was supposed to take picture, search for species and also booked
the name of species in Whatsapp application through mobile phones. This field trip was also bring the
students closer together as all of us shared information together in order to complete our tasks. Other
than that, i also learned that discipline are very important throughout this field trip no matter what
situation we were facing. For example, the weather at Cameron Highlands at that moment was unstable
because of it is rainy season at there now. So, i learned that even though we were facing a little bit
challenges because of the cool and wet weather, we were still disciplined and lined up when taking the
bus. This will make the situation becomes more easier and calm.

Throughout the journey of completing this magazine, I learnt that cooperation is very
important in finishing the group assignment. My group members and I need to collect
information about 20 species of plants from MARDI and CHiMP to complete this magazine.
We were given 5 to 6 hours to take pictures of the plants. So, to make sure that we can collect
all of it in the time given for us, all of the group members must give full cooperation, as we
need to make sure that the pictures of plants we take were not overlap with another groups.
Then, I also learnt about the importance of time management. We need to manage our time
wisely because we have a lot of things to do in order to finish this magazine. We need to
search the information about the plants and do the editing of this magazine which actually
take a long time to complete it.
