Background of the Study
Global warming refers to the increase in the earth average temperature that
occurs naturally or induced by human activity. Over the years, Ghana as a
country has been faced with issue of severe cases like drought, farming, and
bad weather conditions; all attributed to the increasing rate of global warming
of which Ghana is not an exception. As an artist and with my in-depth
knowledge in education, i plan on creating a visual display(painting) to create
awareness of some of the activities that result into global warning and ways
of curbing it. The painting will serve as communication tool that will speak to
people on global warming.

Problem Statement

Global warming has been with us for a very long time especially since the
dawn of industrialization. The world has long suffered from global warming
since its emergence because of some of the negative effects on the globe such
as drought, famine, and bad weather conditions. My attention was drawn to it
with the recent problem I encounter during my visit to a friend at the
Northern Region.
Objectives of the Project

The project seeks to use painting to educate people on the effects if global
warming. The project seeks to use painting to reduce the effects of global
warming.

Purpose of the Project

The purpose here is to educate people here in Ghana and the world at large on
the dangers of global warming and how to curb it.

METHODS

The artistic method use in executing the work is drawing and painting.
Drawing is the process of making marks on surfaces with suitable tools to
create pictures. Painting is the application of pigments to create pictures.
Drawing and painting will be used to execute this artwork with the help of
tools such as paint, paper/card, pencils where the paper/card will receive the
artwork and the brush will be used to paint the artwork.

Techniques such as detailing, drawing of the outline, painting and

construction. The method is suitable for the work. This techniques are unique
and perfect for the work execution. Thumbnail sketches will be made with
more details. Looking at the work which is global warming. A sketch of a
globe will be drawn and divided into two where part will represent dry zone
and the other will represent vegetational zone.

TOOLS: Hammer, saw, sandpaper, paint roller.
