Kolkata - India Side (River Hooghly) NW 1

For the Portion of Kolkata Port to Bangladesh Border (Athara banki) Pilot Station it is
around 300 Kms on river with draft level around 4.5 m (average in April 2019) wherein
there is a Bridge in between Namkhana and Patharprotima with height clearance of
around 10.375m on High Flood Level (Place is Iswaripur)

Bangladesh Portion from Mongla to Chilamri


On entering Bangladesh Athara Banki it will move Mongla - Kawkhali - Barishal - Hizla -
Chandpur - Narayanganj - Aricha - Sirajganj - Bahadurabad - Chilmari around 700 kms with
average draft 3 m average, wherein at chilamri (Border) the water Least available water
draft is around 1.88 m in April 2019 wherein monsoon the water draft rises to around
2.5m in some areas however BIWTA gives safe navigational support to Barges to Indian
Border. In en-route the Bridge is Bangabandhu Setu Height Clearance 12.90 m (Near to
Shirajganj)
