INTRODUCTION

Time management in a company is a key factor for success, understanding that the business

administrator or leader is a person who must have the full capacity to make decisions in a

suitable time frame.

Currently there are various strategies for time organization, giving us to understand how

important it is to manage it for the benefit of an organization, even personal, well-managed

time pays enough to reach a successful goal.

In this activity we will talk a little about the importance of good time management in an

industrial operating scenario and its relevance for the processes that are handled there,

remembering that the selected company was ECOPETROL S.A. and the environment

reflected there is the experience of a member of the group.

2
1. TIME MANAGEMENT

In the fields of operations in the company ECOPETROL S.A. an organization is managed

based on the time in which the operators must make the due rounds to inspect and verify that

the processes are being carried out correctly, however, there are still shortcomings in this

area, which is very important.

1.1 PROBLEM # 1 "FEEDING SCHEDULES"

In the process of the shifts, the schedules for the proper feeding are presented, it is

there when there is a communication problem that lies in the administration of time,

some workers because they do not measure time and have it organized, do not make

the relevant relays to the time to monitor the processes, leaving a lapse of time at risk

of operations.

1.2 PROBLEM # 2 “LATE ENTRY TO CONTROL STATIONS”

In the different checkpoints, deliveries are made on shift to have knowledge about

what happened in the previous shift, however the problem arises when those who are

entering arrive late for not managing time, and generate a setback in the organization

of control activities.

1.3 PROBLEM # 3 “OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES FROM DAY TO DAY”

In most cases, by complying with the operational protocols of the previous shift,

compliance with the protocols of the current shift is delayed, this immediately

generates a delay in the control of each operation due to filling gaps left by previous

colleagues for not organizing their time properly.

3
2. VARIABLES TO DETERMINE TIME MANAGEMENT

In the company a management plan is implemented in which time is taken as soon as

possible, however in compliance with this there are shortcomings.

2.1 ORGANIZATION OF TEAMS TO TAKE FOOD.

It is important to specify the schedules already established in order to have a rigorous

order and control in the feeding times, there is a management plan in which these

schedules are included and compliance with it is the facilitator to better carry out this

task.

2.2 COMMUNICATION BETWEEN STATIONS

The communication between control stations allows to manage precisely how each

operator should attend their station, this is ideal for not generating setbacks.

2.3 ORGANIZE TIME IN EACH SEASON.

Existing in each station a time schedule allows that there is no misinformation when

carrying out the daily controls of each operator, understanding this the operator has a

well-organized daily work plan that allows him to comply with the corresponding

activities, and this organizational box time is the determining factor for its good

management.

3. CONCLUSIONS

The solution alternatives range from the creation of a specific time plan for each

season and from generating awareness about it.

3.1 “STRUCTURE TIME PLAN”

Knowing the daily tasks of each process station, develop a plan that allows to detail in

criteria of time and action the way to develop each activity with its due duration, this

in order to be able to manage time appropriately.

3.2 “AWARENESS ABOUT TIME”

That each operator has the ability to accurately understand time and its relevance

when making decisions and organizing controls and processes, promoting with talks

and training in which the way to organize and determine tasks is specified so that they

can fulfill with all without generating overtime.

3.3 “COLLABORATIVE WORK”

In order to optimize time and manage it in a better way, the accompaniment by the

work team in building a methodology that allows everyone to advance in a precise

and unified way is very beneficial in order not to generate setbacks in the fixed times,

this collaboration It will allow support in the opportunities that most require it and

thus be able to define the appropriate action to be able to find expected results.
