Statement of Need

their product on the packaging, Han's RSP uses absolutely no chemicals and are made out
of cotton and flannel and waterproof material to avoid leakage.
 Han's RSP will save money. Buying RSP may feel like an expensive purchase but
remember that is all you will ever need to spend on sanitary products for the next 2-3
years.
 Han's RSP performs better than disposable Pad, it is 100% leak-proof and stays dry and,

DESCRIPTION OF THE SOLUTION

The goal of Han's RSP is no women or girls should stay home because of the lack of
sanitary pads; this will be done through the distribution of reusable sanitary pads as well
as ensuring the provision of menstrual hygiene management education and facilities to
girls in schools. Safeguarding the safe disposal of disposable pads remains a major
challenge as unsafe disposal carries with it attendant environmental and health risks.

PREVIOUS RELATED EXPERIENCE

Han’s has previously provided a Dignity kit for young girls in Glabella Region sponsored by
World Vision. CONCLUSION Han's RSP plans to be part of the solution to several challenges
facing menstruating girls in needy settings from the use of unsanitary materials to the rise in

PREVIOUS WORK IN FASHION SHOWS

Han’s RSP is a sole manufacturing company by a young and ambitious Hanan Ahmed who is
known for her culturally inspired modest fashion wear. Hanan has previously worked in 2
International Airlines as a flight attendant bot at Ethiopian and Emirates Airlines. Her previous
works have been featured on TV, Radio, Newspaper, and Magazines since 2019. STEPS TAKEN
TO GET THE PRODUCT LICENCED? Han’s RSP is certified by the Ethiopian Conformity
Agency and has got a pass Certificate which is a standard set by the Addis Ababa Food,
Medicine and Health Care Administration and Control Authority on 29/11/2021.
MANUFACTURING CAPACITY OF THE SEWING MACHINE? Han’s RSP manufactures
approximately 5,000 RSP a month. PROBLEM STATEMENT Female students face great
challenges in terms of hygiene and sanitation for menstruating girls, these problems compound
the difficulties posed by the inability to afford sanitary towels as well as cultural taboos around
menstruation. As a result, many girls miss on average four to seven days of school every month,
which makes them fall behind in their class. The main problems faced by women and girls are:-

 Absenteeism where girls stay at home rather than attending school.
