In the background, a bass note is heard. It is gaining volume, causing unrest.

Fade-in. Aditya’s face in close. He is staring into the blank. Cut to mid shot. ome movements
are seen behind him and in front. Cut to mid-long shot. !e see a la"yer standing behind Aditya, s#eaking
vehemently. Cut to long shot. $ore movement comes into vie". !e still hear no sound. ome other men
in suits are seen, contributing to the tense conversation. %ots of #eo#le talking together. Aditya is sitting
at the head of the table. &here is a middle aged "oman sitting across the table to him. 'aghav, Aditya’s
colleague, touches his shoulder. Aditya looks at 'aghav. 'aghav looks cross. ound fades in ( loud,
incom#rehensible din. Chief in that is the "oman’s la"yer reading out certain demands from the
com#any.

omeone o#ens the car door for Aditya. Aditya "alks do"n the ste#s, does not go to the o#en
door. He "alks around and takes the key from the driver and sits in the car.

&he car drives into a club house and # arks. Aditya gets off.
$any men and "omen ( all decked u# in fineries ( notice Aditya as he "alks in. &here is a
reaction of sur#rise. Aditya comes to the la"n and looks straight. A "edding rece#tion #latform, bride and
groom and guests and #hotogra#hers. &he bride sees him. He is "alking to"ards her. he gets tense. He
gets into the line of #eo#le "aiting to meet the cou#le.
Aditya gets u# on the #latform, "alks to"ards the girl, stands in front of her. he looks at the
groom. &he groom e2tends his hand to Aditya. &hey shake hands.
&he #hotogra#hers ask them to #ose. Aditya #oses. na#, sna#, sna#.
He looks at the bride one more time, then turns and "alks a"ay.

He "alks through the corridor, "alks into the #arking lot and comes to his car. He unlocks the
car, o#ens the door. He stands in that #osition, looking at the keys. $usic of receding begins. Aditya
 #laces the key on to# of the car.

6As he turns a"ay from the bride and "alks, ambient sound begins to fade out. By the time he #laces the
key on to# of the car, the soundtrack is com#letely silent.7

&he music of receding #lays. Aditya turns. &itles begin. His mind is a blank, his senses diffused.
He "alks out.

8utside the club, Aditya "alks the lane ( as though some force is taking him a"ay. He o#ens his
coat buttons and removes the tie.

'eturn office traffic has begun. He #uts his tie on the #avement, crosses the street.
Aditya "alks across a market #lace.

He "alks on another street. He removes his coat, #laces it on a railing. A beggar is looking at
him. He removes his gold cuff-links. Cuff-links fall on the #avement.

He "alks across a bus-sto#, #ulling his sleeves. A bus sto#s. 9eo#le file in from around him. He
turns and looks at the bus.

He is sitting in the bus. His co-#assengers kee# changing.

1vening. &he bus comes to a final halt outside :& station. 1veryone gets off. Aditya gets out.
:& rail"ay station. Aditya "alks in.

He "alks through the cro"d in the foyer.

He is "alking on a #latform. &rain "histle blo"s, flurry at the #latform. Aditya sto#s. He looks at
the train. &he train begins to move. Aditya looks at the door coming to"ards him. It is inviting him. He
moves u# and climbs into the door. &he train takes him a"ay.

&he train is leaving the station.

6&he ambient sound "ill be almost inaudible. 8nly very loud and shrill sounds ( like the train "histle (
"ill be registered. In the last shot of the train leaving the station, the ambient sound "ill come back in

&he #latform, seen from the train through a door, is moving faster and faster. &here are t"o men
standing at the door. 8ne of them ( a young man, is hanging out and bringing in #ieces of luggage from
someone still on the #latform. 1vidently, a girl is trying to catch the s#eeding train. &here is a coolie
involved, but "e can only hear them at this time.

8ne suitcase is already in. It is #ut on the side by someone. &he young man gets off the train and
takes another suitcase from the coolie and loads it.

the seat number as she "alks.

Aditya o#ens the door of the train and looks out. &he rails are clanging along, bushes are
 um#ing out from the darkness, #oles are "hi>>ing #ast. He shuts his eyes for a moment. He hears a siren.
A train is a##roaching. He looks at the train. &he train charges in, crushing the rails, shaking the gravel.
Aditya clenches his fists on the railing. &here is no one near him. His face is getting hard. &he train "ill
 be there in seconds. It’s a matter of seconds. It is coming. It is about to reach.

Aditya gets a start. He turns to look. ;eet is standing there, "ith a to"el and soa#, come to "ash

 blo"s. he looks u# the aisle and do"n. he is a bit "orried.

&he train has begun to move.

A man is standing at the footboard as ;eet is seen coming out of the com#artment near the
 basins. he glances do"n the #latform, then goes to"ards the toilets. he is back in a flash.

he moves to the door as the man moves in. he looks out at the #latform in tension. he reacts
on seeing Aditya.

!e see Aditya. He is "alking a"ay in the other direction.

Aditya does not hear, kee#s sauntering a"ay in the other direction.

&he man returns to the door, looks out.

He is sitting on the bench. ;eet looks at the train, looks at him. he calculates. &hen runs

he reaches him, #ushes him. He turns to her.

Aditya looks at her, looks at the trai n, looks back at her, doesn’t move.

he turns and runs back to"ards the train. he "ould reach the train. Her com#artment has
 #assed, but she can get u# from some other. &he train has #icked u# s#eed. he runs at full s#eed, totally
focussed on to an o#en door. o focussed on the door that she does not see something coming in her "ay.

!oman *8C+ Arey, arey, arey

;eet collides and falls and screams. he has hit against a fat, middle-aged "oman carrying a
 basket of tomatoes. &he "oman is on the floor no", tomatoes are rolling in all directions.

&he train #icks u# s#eed and goes a"ay. he runs to a sto# at the end of the #latform, looking at
the train in des#air. he turns around, #anting heavily. he can’t believe this is ha##ening to her. he
looks at the station. &here is a signal boy, some vendors ready to slee# under blankets near their sho#s (
everyone looking at her in #ity. 12ce#t the "oman "ho she h ad knocked do"n, "ho is collecting her
tomatoes and still abusing.
