[Download to Circuit Boards] Downloads software to all necessary BOARDS. The
software files for the BOARDS are on the NT HARD DRIVE
to download to new BOARDS.
[System Self Test] If a failure occurs during any of the following tests, check
the error logs.
Runs the following diagnostic tests on the MCPU:
• GALVO BOARD COMMUNICATION
Checks the connection of the CABLE between the
GALVO BOARD and the MCPU BOARD. A failure
occurs if there is a problem with the CABLE.
• GALVO REFERENCE
Reads the GALVO ADC CHANNEL connected to the
GALVO reference voltage. If the reference is below
3500 ADC counts, the BOARD may not have the
correct DC power and a failure occurs.
DIAGNOSTICS Introduction
20JUL04
DG3519-1 BUTTON Description
Page
30 of 165 • GALVO MOTOR
If the GALVO MOTOR is not connected, the GALVO
AGC voltage reference will be high. By reading the
AGC voltage reference ADC, this test recognizes a
problem with the GALVO. If the voltage is too high, a
failure occurs.
• GALVO SWEEP
Writes values to the offset and amplitude on the
GALVO BOARD and then reads back the values. A
successful test is an indication that the REGISTERS
on the GALVO BOARD can be written to and read
from correctly. It is possible that the SWEEP function
is either occurring or not occurring.
• LASER OFFSET
When the PMT BOARD has power, and the LASER
REFERENCE is plugged in, the LASER
REFERENCE can be offset from 0 by a large
margin. Reading the LASER REFERENCE occurs
when the LASER SHUTTER is closed.
• PMT BOARD TEST
This test is similar to the “GALVO BOARD
COMMUNICATION” and “GALVO REFERENCE” test.
The test indicates if the CABLE is not connected or
the BOARD does not have power, but cannot define
which of the 2 errors occurred.
• MCPU BOARD MEMORY TEST
Writes 0xAAAA then 0x5555 to all the memory in the
image buffers and then reads the data back after
each write occurs to check for errors.
