Notes 1.1
Safety Information 0
• To switch off power to all parts of the system (generator and system cabinet). set the
system switch in the OFF position.
• Install or remove components only with the generator switched off; when doing this,
observe ESD guidelines.
• ESD guidelines must be observed during startup.
WARNING With the generator switched off, there is still line power present at
the T1 transformer D160 switch-on circuit (see Wiring Diagram
X2206-10). After switching off the generator, there is still approx.
600 V DC voltage present for the inverter!
This is indicated by LEDs V35 and V36 on the D110 board (see also
X2206-16).
¹ The voltage dissipates within approx. 2 minutes to 0 V,
the LEDs go off at approx. 30 V. The warning note (label)
in the generator cabinet must be observed.

IONTOMAT Adjustment 0
Unlike with normal film-screen cassettes, the IONTOMAT can be adjusted only with the
cutoff dose in DLR systems.
IONTOMAT Sensitivity 0
NOTE The data can be updated in the XCU with "Transfer Value" and
control exposures can be made without having to exit the SSW.
Enter the following values in XCS SSW program "Competent/ Polydoros/ Adjustment/
Voltage Response Correction”.
Three different exposure steps (BSt) corresponding to three different film-screen combi-
nations (H, U, D) can be programmed at the generator.
For each exposure step, the screen and the film provided for it must be documented with
the following data from the manufacturer in the "Quality Certificate":
- Color sensitivity of the films and screens
- Sensitivity, S
- Theoretical dose requirement, KS
- Minimum resolution, RGr
Make sure that only films for the light color for which the screen is sensitivity has been
determined are used (green sensitive film for green sensitive screen, blue sensitive film for
the blue screen).
There are no international, uniform regulations regarding use of the film-screen combina-
tions; national regulations (e.g §16 RöV) must be observed in the particular country.
Screens and Film Manufacturers/Types
P Enter the value in the "Quality Certificate”.
Color Sensitivity of the Films and Screens
P Enter the value in the "Quality Certificate”.
Sensitivity, S
P The sensitivity, S (speed), specified by the manufacturer must be recorded for each
film-screen combination.
As a rule (in some countries, this is specified), this is the S value on the cassettes (e.g. S
= 200, S = 400) or it must be taken from the data sheets for the film-screen combinations.
The sensitivity of a film-screen combination is defined according to ISO 9236 as the quo-
tient of 1000 µGy and the air kerma (dose) KS required to achieve an optical density
(blackening) of 1 above base fog.

Fig. 28:
Minimum Resolution, RGr
A minimum resolution RGr in LP/mm is assigned to each required dose KS, i.e. the higher
the required dose is for a film-screen combination, the higher the resolution that must be
reached in order to justify the increased dose.
P The particular minimum resolution, RGr must be taken from the illustration for each
film-screen combination used and must be documented.

P • If the collimator plates are adjusted larger at the customer's request, determine the
amount of over-framing and record this in Quality Certificate 1.
Workflow
• Unit in 0°position. Set an SID of 115 cm Select I.I. full format.
• Place the centering cross on the tabletop; when doing this, set the X axis in the tabletop
transverse direction.
• Switch fluoroscopy ON. Collimate a radiation field of approx. 4 x 4 cm and position the
centering cross so it is centered to the radiation field.
• Open the collimator all the way. Starting from the center of the centering cross, going in
the width and length directions, read the cm division of the four X1, X2, Y1, Y2 coordi-
nates displayed on the monitor and record the values. Perform this for all I.I. formats
and all SIDs.
• In pace of the centering cross, place a cassette with film (at least 35 x 35 cm or 14 x 14")
turned 45° on the tabletop and center it to the light field. Trigger fluoroscopy with the col-
limator open all the way for all I.I. formats until sufficient film density is achieved. Make a
test film for each SID, whereby all 4 I.I. formats are visible. Evaluation is possible
because of the different film blackening of the individual formats. Make a test film for
each SID.
• Measure the width (X) and length (Y) of the radiation fields on the test films and record
the values.
Admissible Overframing of the I.I. Formats in the Centering Cross Plane:
