negatively affect the performance among students. And
OBJECTIVES

 Know the rates of chronic absenteeism for your district and schools within the
district

as a barrier
ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to examine the direct and indirect relationship between student
school absenteeism, personal factors (academic self-perception, attitudes towards teacher
and school, goal valuation and motivation/self-regulation), family factors (parents’
educational level and income), and academic achievement in structural equation model
Four hundred and twenty-three high school students participated in the study. The
findings revealed that students’ absenteeism was negatively related to academic self-
perception, attitudes toward teacher and school, goal valuation, motivation/ self-regulation,
and academic performance. Results from SEM analyses notice that personal and family
factors significantly predict and current the student absenteeism. SEM analyses also
revealed that previous students’ absenteeism significantly predicts previous academic
achievement. Finally, SEM analyses notice that previous student absenteeism and previous
academic achievement can predict current student absenteeism. Contributions of these
findings were discussed in detail.
METHODOLOGY
Absenteeism will create a distance between the imployeestudents and teachers on the
managemen school.t. Objectivess of the study primary objective; To examine personal causes
that give rise to absenteeism. To bring out to factors which affect the working atmosphere of the
students that drives them to absenteeism.
CHAPPTER 1
STUDENTS POSSIBLE REASON FOR ABSENCE
Students of Grade 11 Senior High School of Sulo National High School (SNHS) A lot of
students absent from school, is because of Family Problem, Minor/Major Illness, Work Place,
Bad Weather, Mental Health Issues, and Approved leave, and they’ll absent for days, weeks, or
maybe months. So that’s why the teachers having problem for the students who are absent for
days, weeks, and months, is because they miss a lot of lessons, discussions, and quizzes, and
many more possible activities that the adviser and subject teachers gives to the students.

Conclusion: The students absent just to help their family so they can have food in the table
and the do not die from hunger

STUDENTS WHO ABSENCE JUST TO HANG-OUT

Some students absent from school and had an excuse letter send to the teachers that he/she had a
fever and hours later one of the subject teachers saw him/her at a certain place with his/her
friends hanging out together, and the looks of the student he/she doesn’t have a fever he/she lied
the excuse letter he/she wrote. And some students can be seen vacationing at the resort posting
on social media

Conclusion: They miss their best friend (BF) from another school/place so he visit his
friends

THE DISADVANTAGE OF ABSENTEEISM FROM SCHOOL

 The students miss a lot of lesson, activities (group/individual) and quizzes
 If there’s an oral activity the students who are absent are automatically zero even the
student has an excuse letter the grade of this activity is 10pts.
 The students miss the discussion for the exams
 If there’s a performance task that has 50pts. And the students that absent and has not
informed by the classmates, when he came back its already the deadline of the
performance task activity that student is already zero unless the teacher gave him a
second chance to pass, he will only receive 20pts. If not. he’s zero.
 If the students absent for 1-2weeks and when he came back sometimes the teacher gave
him a hard quiz for the last week, they had discussed for the last two-weeks and the
teacher does not allow anyone to help him
 The student can also miss the fun stuff that happen in school like one of the classmates
telling joke while the whole class laugh even the teacher.

Conclusion: The who absent they misses a lot of lessons, discussions, etc. and they miss the
fun stuff that happened its either they regret for absenting on that day or not

CHAPTER 2
The teachers having problem to the absent students
The adviser tells the absent student/s to ask the classmates/friend on what they discussed on the
other subjects and ask if there are a quiz coming or theirs an assignment or to reach up to the
other subject teacher on how to catch up to the discussions and having an online meetup to the
absent student/s during the weekends/summer. For the sake to catch up the discussion and for the
students does not have a cellphone they need meet up at school to discussed the lessons to the
students missed.

Conclusion: The student who doesn’t participate the meet up he/she does not have any
other choice to continue the discussions on wherever they stop

What are the reasons for absenteeism in class?

Studies indicate that absenteeism is caused by a number of factors such as: lack of interesting
and challenging curriculum; a desire for hedonistic activities with peers; negative self-image and
self- esteem; lack of subject interest; lack of personal interest in studies; the mental capacity of a
student does not match.

Conclusion: The students’ absence because they woke up late so they prefer to absent
