Jacqueline Chamale learned about trial and error when arranging her classroom setup. She found herself rearranging furniture multiple times to ensure there was enough walking space and easy access to materials. Having her desk at the back of the classroom allowed her to see all students. Overall, she learned the importance of a neat and organized classroom space. This experience will help her design her own classroom in the future to be functional and organized.

The main concept I learned during this assignment was dealing with trial and error. I felt like my classroom setup had to be functional and organized. While arranging my classroom I found myself very often rearranging to make sure there was enough room for students and me to walk around. I also made sure furniture such as the filing cabinets was in the correct areas where I would have easy access to the material I needed. I also kept in mind the need to be able to see all my students so after rearranging having my desk at the back was the most functional. Overall, I learned the importance of having a neat and organized classroom.
ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for STUDENTS (NETS) S Addressed:
1.4 Innovative Designer Students use a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful, or imaginative solutions.
Application of Skills Learned for the Future:
This same application will be helpful for me when I finally get into my own classroom. I know that I will not know exactly how I want my classroom until I see the space in person but going in I will know what to look out for and focus on making the room functional and organized. Alongside that, like the bottom of the assignment said I could easily use this as a seating chart for multiple classes and years on. In cases where I am not at school, it could be left to the substitute teacher to ensure students are in their assigned seats.
