Lesson 12- Activity 2

In student-centered classrooms, students are directly involved and invested in the discovery of their
own knowledge. Through collaboration and cooperation with others, students engage in experiential
learning that is authentic, holistic, and challenging. For instance, when a teacher gives tasks or activities
learners in student-centered learning classroom tend to learn more essential skills and knowledge when
they performed the task or simple learners learn by doing rather than paper and pen test. When
learners listen to instruction, they usually forget those topic, but when learners see and experience or
perform the activity they don’t just remember the lesson they also understand what they are doing.

ADVANTAGES

1. Organizing and easy access

Teachers can easily organize his/her teaching materials that he/she already prepared which it is
more useful for teachers specially when they are preparing the lessons.
2. Monitor learners’ development and behavior
In this area teachers are able to recognize learners’ development and social behavior inside the
classroom. This will also help teachers improve the course or program content to make it more
suitable to the needs of students’ learning development.
3. Education cost reduction
Since we are learning through the use of technology amidst pandemic it is one of the benefits of
instructional software in education of the learners. Teachers and learners have more access of
the lessons even inside their home and it does not cost too much since the only expenses is the
internet access.
4. Reduced teacher workload
Technology is already automated, and it won’t be a problem for teachers to have teaching
materials since they can already make power pint presentations or send links to their students if
they will give activities or information. Special tools are provided, and it help teachers to focus
on their key activities.
5. Enhance learners’ engagement and performance
The information and communication technology is one of the reason why mobile learning
software is an ideal solution to integrate educational technology that are suitable for the
learners and attainable for the learners’ need of learning. Learners’ can creatively perform some
of the activities and make outputs using technology.

DISADVANTAGES
1. Difficult to get the learner’s attention
studying on computers students’ attention is challenging for any teachers. Gadgets and
computers often distract learners the reason why teachers need to monitor learners’
behavior.
2. Difficulty in choosing the most suitable software
It is somehow difficult for some teachers to choose suitable educational software since
there are massive and numerous educational software requirements for children. teachers
must choose appropriate, engaging, educational, and accurate educational software.
3. Not a universal choice for all learners’
Students that are handicapped such as vision problem or other health relate problems may
be unable to acquire the use of educational software efficiently. It would be a hindrance to
their learning development since it is not the best choice for their learning.
4. No interactive and few collaborative activities for students
There are few activities that will poorly attain collaborative activities since learners are more
focus on using technology and interactive activities and performances will not be able to
fully achieve specially during pandemic.
5. Removes children from opportunities for socialization
One of the disadvantage educational software where students can learn special skills yet
opportunities in socialization is reduced. Therefore, teachers should not only focus on
enforcing or developing learners technology literacy but also social skills.

LESSON 15 ACTIVITY 2

These are manifested using the hypermedia, how these truly happened, cite examples.

Give learners relevant learning tasks that will help students focus on learning.
Recall prior learning
Guide learners retrieve memories that are primarily essential and helpful in attaining
new objectives
Inform learners of lesson objectives
Inform learners what they are about to learn in the new lesson.
Introduce the software and its distinctive features
Expose learners with the lessons or information that they will be learning.
Guide learning, eliciting performance
Give learners hints in able for them to understand and recall what they are to learn and
give learners the advantage to demonstrate that they have learned new information
Provide learning feedback
Provide learners information about the suitability of their responses in the “elicit
performance” event
Assess performance
Assess the learners if they have achieved the objectives of the unit
Enhance retention and learning transfer
Allow learners to review and expand for instance show pictures of objects and ask
students to identify the shown picture.
