Statement of Purpose

My name is Mohammad Ishaq Aryan, I am from Afghanistan. I have completed my previous

education in both, natural sciences and social sciences. I have BA in Natural Sciences from Kabul
Education University at the end of 2009 in Afghanistan. After a break of 3 years, after passing
the IELTS in 2012, I succeeded to enroll in Karlstad University in Sweden for MA studies in Social
Sciences. I was keen in applying my education in social sector; I therefore worked as a Teacher
educator in a government College for 10 years. Consecutively, I promoted to work as acting
educational officer in the same college for 1 year and then promoted to work as the acting
director of Paktika TTC for more than 3.5 years with main responsibilities to lead, monitor,
facilitate, assess, assist and report about the educational and administrative activities to the
general directorate of teacher education. I proved be a good leader and manager as I graduated
girls from College for the very first time in the history of Paktika province in 2017. Besides, I was
involved in social activities to advocate human rights, women empowerment, lecturing and
public awareness in the community as my side and volunteer hobbies. Now I decided to enroll
myself in MA Education because a master's in education gives you the tools you need to reach
students where they are, better engage and manage your classroom, and improve educational
outcomes for your students.
Afghanistan needs vital attention in renovation of textbooks, curriculum and overall, a
comprehensive change in the educational system. I had passed a couple courses with PWD
(Passed with Distinction) grades during my previous MA studies in Karlstad University in
Sweden in 2013, I therefore, wish to pursue my additional education in social sciences field and
mainly in education, management, curriculum development etc. I strongly believe that with an
educational experience in accredited UK universities, I can be an asset for this change in future.
I was advised by one of my friends in UK to follow the information about the education system
in UK. I consulted with my parents and after searching for the information, I came to know that
UK educational experience, skills and cultures can assist me in enhancing my knowledge and
career to a very higher extent. In order to gain quality education I couldn’t discover any other
best alternative but UK and precisely the London Metropolitan University. I am pretty sure and
quite excited for my personal and career development in UK.  
I chose the London Metropolitan University, London Metropolitan University offer an
international study experience in the heart of London. They are one of the UK's most diverse
universities with international students from over 140 different countries enrolled, and tuition
fees specifically are set at very competitive prices. London Met has climbed 25 places in the
Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, which was published today. The University is
now ranked 100th nationally in the league table, up from 125th place last year.
London Metropolitan University is ranked between 801-1000 in QS World University Rankings
2022. Having said that, the university is also ranked 119 in the Complete University Guide's
University League Tables 2022 and 87 in the Guardian's Best UK Universities 2022 - rankings.
I have witnessed the barriers for educational development and it has always depressed me. As
a responsible figure, I want to shoulder my level of burden and thus, after returnee from the
world’s top University (London Metropolitan University) I am sure I will be back with invaluable
educational knowledge, which will obviously result productive consequences to the betterment
of educational system.
