Description:
This club is an extracurricular class that has the goal of preparing students for
the Vestibular tests, especially in the area of Chemistry related subjects. During the
course of the year, we will get acquainted with diverse contents of chemistry,
including a more in-depth study of those that will be a part of the big range of the
Universities’ tests. Since I am not enrolled in the Chemistry class in the IB, I decided
to take this course in order to prepare myself for future evaluations and to diversify
my areas of knowledge.

Goal & Strands:

The club is related to creativity since it is going to be a class that provides us
with content about chemistry, and we will learn more about these concepts and also
about their application in university entrance exams. In this club, which will happen
all throughout the year, there will be several classes in which we will get acquainted
with content that may be seen as a challenge initially, especially taking into account
that I do not take Chemistry as a subject in IB. However, as we learn more, it will
become more natural and easier to use these new skills. Also, since there are few
people in the club, it will be possible to learn real-life applications, such as products
or reactions from daily life, but more importantly how it is presented in standardized
tests such as the university exams.

Personal development & Learning Outcomes:

I feel this experience will be extremely beneficial because it will be a way of
having content that will be useful for me in the future when applying for college, and
it will be a way of learning a subject that I am not entirely fond of. In it, I will also be
able to distinguish between the areas that I am better at and those that I need to
learn more about and become stronger at (learning outcome 1). Furthermore, in view
of the fact that I will participate in classes every week for approximately the entire
school year, it will be months of learning and studying various content in the subject,
and it will make sure I am committed to this experience (learning outcome 4).
CAS Stages

1. Investigation:
- I have the need to get acquainted with content from Chemistry since it is not
one of my IB subjects.
- The club will help me learn about various important concepts from the subject
through interactive classes.
- It will increase my knowledge and possibly my interest in Chemistry as a
subject, but also as an area of study.

2. Preparation:
- I will try to prepare myself for the classes mainly by reading about the content
that was seen the previous year since it is essential to the understanding of
this year’s concepts.
- I am going to rapidly read about the content that will be seen in the week’s
class so that I am better prepared to learn about the topic.

3. Action:
- I will participate in all the weekly classes and interact with the teachers.
- I will share my doubts and try to understand better the parts of the content
that is not yet clear to me.
- Also, I plan on doing some exercises from the textbook to ensure that I have
understood the content taught in class.

4. Reflection:
- After the experience is concluded.

5. Demonstration:
- After the experience is concluded.
