Abbreviations:
Ch.st. – chain stitch
Sc – single crochet
Inc – increase (2 sc in one loop)
3
Dec – decrease (2 sc together)
DC – double crochet
DC inc – increase from double crochets (2 dc in one loop)
Dc dec – decrease from double crochets (2 dc crochet together)
Sl.st. – slip stitch

Tips for toys crocheting:

 Crochet in continuous spiral rows, do not join at the end of the row
with slip stitches and do not twist the work unless the other is
noted.
 Use another color thread as a marker at the beginning of each row -
this will help you to indicate the first loop of each new row.

Wrong side Front side

 For crocheting this toy, it is better to use the materials described

above. They can be replaced with yarn of similar composition or
thread thickness;
 Stuff the toy not very tight – the density is medium.

If you use the safety eyes (I described the usage of not safety eyes in
this pattern), then prepare them. To do this, cut the eyeball from a
white felt (approximately 10 mm), make the holes and insert the eyes
10 mm in diameter. Glue the eyes to the eyeball. Then go 4 sc from the
marker to the left side and to the right, and between the 15th and 16th
rows insert the ready-made eyes. Fasten the eyes.

Spread the hollow fiber evenly through the head and cheeks.

EYES AND MOUTH TIGHTENING

Use pins to mark the location of the eye and mouth. The eyes will be
located between the 15th and 16th rows, going from the marker to the
left and right side 4 stitches. These will be points 1 and 2. From the
marker, go down 8 rows and mark the mouth with pins symmetrically
relative to the eyes. There are 16 single crochets between points 3 and
4. We will make the tightening using the same thread as we used for
head crocheting.
You can watch how to make tightening on my YouTube channel; there I
did the tightening for Brownie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kErezvKPD0w&t=54s .
Insert the needle in any place between the sc and leave a small tip
outside. Withdraw the needle at point
1 (between the 15th and 16th row), go
one sc down at the same point and
insert the needle. Further, withdraw
the needle at point 2 (between the
15th and 16th row), tighten the thread
slightly, also go one sc down at the
same point and insert the needle.
Withdraw at point 1 and tighten it slightly again. Repeat so 2-3 times.

6
Go one sc down at point 1 and withdraw at point 3. Also go 1 sc down,
insert the needle and withdraw at point 2. Tighten the thread. Do the
same with point 4.

Go one sc down at point 2 and insert the needle, withdraw at point 4.

Also go one sc down, insert the needle and withdraw at point 1. Tighten
the yarn. Repeat the mouth tightening one more time.

7
Eyes and mouth tightening is ready. Withdraw the thread at the point
where we left the tip initially. Cut the yarn, tie the ends into a knot
and hide.

Prepare 10 mm eyes and white felt. Cut the eyeballs for the eyes from
white color felt. Glue the eyes to the eyeballs. Then, insert the ready-
made eyes into their place. If you use the safety eyes, then insert
them into the hole between the sc. Glue with the help of “Crystal”. How
to glue the eyes you can watch in video on my YouTube channel
https://youtu.be/5czzYCmx0PM .

8
NOSE
Begin to work with beige color yarn (Jeans color 07).
1 row. 6 sc in MR (6)
2 row. Increase*6 times (12)
3-4 row. Crochet 12 sc (12) (2 rows)
Leave the yarn for sewing. Sew the nose onto the face. In the process
of sewing stuff the nose.

We embroider mouth and eyebrows using the brown color yarn. I use
YarnArt Jeans yarn color 40, the only thing is that before
embroidering I divide the thread and use only one thin. You can
embroider with regular brown sewing thread.

EARS
The ears will be located between the 17th and 22nd row, focus on
markers.
LEFT EAR (if you look at the back of the gnome's head)
Join the beige color yarn to the marker of the 17th row (join to the sc
with the help of a chain stitch), crochet an ear from top to bottom
from the back of the head.
3 sc, sl.st., turn

sl.st, 3 sc, sl.st.
Cut the yarn, fasten and hide the ends.

RIGHT EAR (if you look at the back of the gnome's head)
Join the beige color yarn to the 21st row (join to the sc with the help
of a chain stitch) and crochet an ear from the bottom to the top, going
up to the marker.
3 sc, sl.st., turn
sl.st., 3 sc, sl.st.
Cut the yarn, fasten and hide the ends.

Now the marker will go on the back in the center of the leg, so that
crochet some floating loops, I did 3 sc. Floating loop - this is always
the first loop of a row (crochets like sc), but then the second loop
that follows it is already considered as the first loop.
Cut two soles from the plastic (you can use plastic caps from cans or
plastic cutting board).

Change to the beige color yarn (Jeans color 48).

and insert it into the leg.
Stuff the leg.

We continue to follow the marker of the row beginning. The marker

should go in the middle of the leg, behind. If your marker deviates to
the right, then when the color in the leg changes from light green to
white, crochet one floating loop or adjust to your crocheting density.

green color yarn through the front loops of the 70th row - 21 sc. Fasten
the yarn with sl.st., cut, and hide inside the body.

18
FRONT PART BACK

Place the head onto the wire of the body and sew it.
Now we will make bangs for a gnome. For
this, crochet a little detail from brown
color yarn and tink it after in a half an hour
(I did a circle from 30 loops). The thread
will become a little curly. Cut 15 sections
from this thread and with the help of a
hook fasten them to the gnome’s head.
Fasten the sections at the 3rd and 4th row
level. You can also fasten straight sections.
How to make bang for the gnome you can
watch on my YouTube channel
https://youtu.be/K8LGD3qlGcA
With the help of pink artistic pastel tint the gnome’s cheeks and a
nose.

19
Sew white buttons onto the blouse and yellow buttons onto the boots.

SHORTS
I crochet tight enough and as a result, get the shorts not wide. If you
do not crochet very tight take for crocheting the shorts you cant take
a smaller hook, for example, Clover № 2.0 or regular hook №1.75.
Begin to work from blue color yarn.
Cast on 72 ch.st. and with the help of sl.st make a circle.

1 row. Crochet 72 sc (72)

5-11 row. 3 chains up, 77 dc, slip stitch (78) (7 rows)

Now, we will crochet the leg pants.

Through both sides of the loops, crochet 3 sc so that 36 loops remain
on each leg. Next, make a slip stich separately into the loop of the leg
pant and crochet it.

12 row. 3 chains up, 35 dc, сс (36)

13 row. 3 chains up, 4 dc, dec dc, (10 dc, dec dc)*2 times, 5 dc, sl.st.
(33)
14 row. 3 chains up, 8 dc, dec dc, (9 dc, dec dc)*2 times, sl.st. (30)
Try to crochet next rows not tight. Do not make chain stitches and slip
stitches – crochet in the circle.
15 row. 4 sc, dec, (8 sc, dec)*2 times, 4 sc (27)
16-17 row. Crochet 27 sc (27) (2 rows)
Fasten the yarn with a slip stitch, cut and hide.

21
Fasten blue color yarn to the second leg pant and crochet it in the
same way as the first.
Video of the second pant crocheting you can watch on my YouTube
channel https://youtu.be/0iWS_K41jjQ .

Use yellow color yarn for the belt.

Cast on 115 ch.st, Leave a tail and insert it into the needle, pull the belt
through the holes onto the shorts. Begin to pull the belt on the back of
