Echota Village Branding Guidelines

Introduction

Culture Talk

Echota Village is owned by the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians Corporate Board,

also known as the UKB. If you’re not native to Oklahoma, you may be asking yourself, what is

Keetoowah? Keetoowah is a name given to our tribe by Unelanvhi, or “the Giver of all things.”

This name was considered sacred by our ancestors and was protected and saved despite all the

struggle they faced because of colonizers. The Keetoowah fought for land, rights, and culture.

Our ancestors went through the hardest of times to pass down our name and culture, which we

are eager to share with you through Echota Village.

Mission

The mission for Echota Village is to combine recreation and culture by providing an RV park

that includes the option to camp with a tent as well as floating. We also have “Keetoowah

Culture Keepers” come to teach about the Keetoowah culture.

What we want to communicate

Echota Village wants to communicate the importance of enjoying what the land has to offer by

taking the time to relax and soak in the scenery. With the help of the employees of Echota

Village, we hope that both tourists and locals can experience Eastern Oklahoma through the eyes

of those who are rich with culture and a new appreciation of the beauty of the land and river.

Message

Our message is “Where recreation and culture comes together”. We hope to provide a space

where visitors can come and enjoy a multitude of activities in a beautiful area while learning

about Keetoowah culture.

Tone of voice

Echota Village’s tone of voice strives to be friendly, exciting and knowledgeable. We hope to

create an atmosphere where our guests have no problem reaching out for questions, help or fun.

Core idea, Mission, Vision, and Tone of Voice

Core idea

Echota Village’s core idea is to combine recreation and culture by creating a fun, friendly, and

informative environment for guests to enjoy at the fullest.

Mission/Vision

Through appreciation of the land along with the features of our RV park, we hope that guests

have a relaxing and fun getaway.

Tone of Voice

The tone of voice should be friendly, helpful and fun along with a magic weight while we tell the

stories from our culture. All of these qualities combined should assist guests in having a trip

worthwhile.

Core visual elements/Brand assets

Logo

Logo consistency for an RV park is important due to large amounts of RV parks, camping spots

and floating locations in Tahlequah. Our logo is meant to set us apart from others and make us

easily identifiable from the rest. This logo is only used on our website.
Concept

The concept of the Echota Village logo is to identify the name of the park as well as the core of

what the park consists of. There is a tribal vibe in the logo to put emphasis on the word “echota”

and the goal of culture and recreation coming together.

Variations

The variations of our logo are not currently used. The difference would be the substitution of the

teepee/tent for the fire. The trees are more grouped together in this variation as well. This

variation also does not have the clarification that this logo is for a RV park. Consistency wise the

use of this would not be beneficial to our brand.

Symbols

The symbol for the logo would be the teepee/tent. This shows the culture side of the RV park as

well as setting us apart from other locations like ours.

Colors

For our logo the colors are important as they should first make guests think of us when they see

it and secondly they should make guests think of the elements of an RV park. Our primary color

in our logo is a beautiful blue that will hopefully remind viewers of the sky or of the water while

they float.

Design Photography Social Media Email Services Presentation

Design

Design consistency will be important when flyers, billboards and social media posts are made.

Each one should have the main logo that is used on the website so our brand is easier to identify.

Photography

Elements in our photography should consist of pictures of our RV park, guests, our floats in use

and anything in our park that would bring in more visitors.

Social Media

While we do not have social media in current use, we should use Facebook as well as Instagram.

There should be photo and informative posts on Facebook at least every other week day and at

least twice on weekends. Instagram can be less informative as the pictures will be most

important. Videos should be posted on Instagram as well to really showcase our location space.

The tone of our social media should be fun and exciting. Our future guests should be “pumped

up” to come to our RV park. The logo should only be needed in our more informative posts so

the logo can be tied to our features and low rates.

Email

Emails should be professional and friendly. They should include our logo so guests can be

absolutely positive about where they are booking or sending their questions.

Visuals

While Echota Village does not currently have a social media or a social media presents, our

visuals should tie into our logo colors.
