PE (Physical Education) School #366

Syllabus (COVID) 2020-2021

I am Mr. Hudecki and I will be teaching you PE this year. I hope you have a
great year and enjoy the time we share together. Due to Covid we will have adapted
classes with new rules and routines. In order for us to have an enjoyable year there are a
few things that I would like for us to go over.
PE Breakdown:
It is very important that your child come prepared for my classes. If they are taking PE
they need to be prepared with the following: sneakers and we recommend athletic loose
fitting clothes. Without these things their chance of success will be very slim. It is also
important that the students are respectful in class and follow the Buffalo Board of
Education code of conduct. The procedure for class is to go the gym for attendance and
then wait for instuction. Due to COVID we will be outside when the weather permits
(above 40 degrees and not raining), if we have poor weather that day we will implement a
number of alternative plans. It is important that the students Participate and are
Prepared.
Grading Rubric:
Daily Grade Break Down: 10pts Total
5 pts: Performance: Participating in one of the activities in PE the whole period.
5 pts: Prepared: mentally ready to go with a good attitude and physically with
proper foot wear e.g. sneakers.
There will also be tests at the end of each semester worth 20% of there grade and
a Final Exam at the end of the year.
Contact Info: If there are questions or concerns about your students grade or what we are
doing in class you can contact me phudecki@buffaloschools.org.
Procedure Changes Due to Covid:
1. Students are NOT required to change and NO LONGER have the option to
change. There are no lockers so keep all valuables with you and it is HIGHLY
SUGGESTED that you do not bring anything of value to PE.
2. The students will be required to take the State fitnessgram: Pacer, Mile, Sit and
Reach, Curl up, Push up, and Height and Weight, these will all be done outside in
the beginning of the year and then indoors in the winter.
3. Each couple of weeks we will have a new unit and will continue this throughout
the year, the units have been adjusted to suit our new requirements and
restrictions.
4. During the fall and Spring we will be going outside everyday that is suitable and
safe, so the students need to prepared accordingly. (jackets, sweatshirt, shorts
etc….weather appropriate).
5. Bathrooms and water fountains will be located in the main building when we
go outside, we will be allowing 1 student at a time to enter the building to use
the bathroom, so please plan accordingly.

I have read the Syllubus and understand the expectations for Physical Education at
School #366 Research Laboratory High School.
