Like everything you bought which require installation job, correctly assembling is a basic point you must
follow to make the pallet racking system work great for you.  If the pallet racking is not properly installed,
there would be potential dangerous for the workers in warehouse. That’s why we suggest you always let
professional pallet racking installation team like T Racking to do the assembly job for you.
But sometimes maybe you only by a few bays of pallet racking for your warehouse, the cost would be
extremely high for you to get a professional team to do it, in this case you may need to assemble them
yourself. For pallet racking which is not very high(less than 3 meter), you can assemble them yourself as
you don’t need very special equipment to make it. If the racking is higher than 3 meter, we definitely
suggest you get a professional pallet racking installation team with necessary equipment to do it.

Now suppose you are willing to install the pallet racking yourself, just read the below instruction then you
can assemble the racking step by step, this would cost some time but isn’t a difficult job

Prior you have to know/do before Installation

Learn detail about the warehouse and the environment where the pallet racking system will be used.
Includes the characteristics of the floor that will be used as the base for the storage equipment and the
mechanical handling equipment.

Details about the goods that will be stored in the equipment as well as specification of pallets or other
types of load carrier
Specification of permitted loads on the storage equipment, Layout and design of equipment to enable
the provision of sufficient handling space for the safe loading in and out of goods for the intended use
Speficiation of the handling equipment that will be used, e.g, type of pallet trucks or forklift
Specified requirements for collision protection and capacity to withstand collisions

Specification of who will perfom the installation of the storage equipment

Know information about future changes in storage needs if possible.

Check all the material list and make sure you have all the items required, report if there is any damage
item, make sure all the components are in good condition.
After know above information, you can start the assemblyl job by 6 steps

Step 1.Assemble the frame

A.Usually the frame is disassembled to save freight cost during transportation. Place two posts on the
ground, parallel with each other check that the holes for attaching the post foot at the same end on both
posts

1. Assemble the post foot on the post and fasten it in place using bolts & nuts.
2. The first horizontal bracing is fastened in the 1st hole counting from the end.’
3. After this, the same horizontal bracing together with the first diagonal bracing, must be secured in the
2nd hole down on the opposite post
4. Then assemble the rest bracing like this to assemble the 2 frame setes.

Step 2

A- Raise the End Frame using a forklift.

B- Maintain the position of the End Frame securely.

C- Install two beams at a height of 9” from the ground.

D- Secure with safety clips or with nuts and bolts.

Step 3 :

A- Install additional End Frame at opposite ends of beams also 9” from the ground and secure with safety
clips or nuts and bolts.

B- Install two more beams approximately 60’’ higher or at height required as long as it is within arm’s
reach of installer. Maintain

C- Use safety clips or nuts and bolts to secure beams on End Frames.

Step 4 :

A – Install two additional beam levels approximately 60’’ higher or at required distance.

B – Always make sure to secure with safety clips or with nuts and bolts.

C – Place bay in final position

D – Level the uprights with shims while maintaining the tolerance limits using the following formula :

E- Anchor both End Frame to the ground ( making sure they are in final position)

F- Once anchor is installed, do not cut top of anchor should it not be completely screwed into cement

Step 5:

A – Proceed to install a minimum of 4 beams per bay or as required.

B – Always make sure to secure with safety clips or with nuts and bolts.

Step 6 :

A- When installing additional sections, spacers must be fastened between uprights to ensure secure and
proper distance. Here is a typical illustration of the proper installation of spacers. Be sure to properly
anchor all uprights.
