RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scaffolder: One who erects and dismantle scaffold, is called Scaffolder. Scaffolder is responsible
for erection and dismantling.
Scaffold Supervisor: Scaffold supervisor have the responsibility of
➢ Material selection and inspection for erection
➢ Doing inspection of scaffolding by Scaffold Inspector and keeping record
➢ Supervise the work of scaffold erection and dismantling
➢ Give instructions to the scaffolders
➢ Ensure safety precautions while scaffolding work is ongoing
Scaffold Inspector: Scaffold inspector have the responsibility of
➢ Inspect the scaffold according to the applicable standard and specifications
➢ Certify the scaffold and maintain the record of it
➢ Reinspect the scaffold if any modification is made and recertify it
Scaffold User: Scaffold users’ responsibilities are
➢ Check the validity of the scaffold from the inspection tag before using it
➢ Do not modify scaffold while working on it. If necessary, inform scaffold supervisor at first.
➢ If one notices any unsafe condition, inform supervisor as fast as possible.
Each and every worker of different position from our company will follow these responsibilities.

• Fixing of Plan Bracing: We will fix the of plan bracing so that the scaffolding base get a
fixed dimension.
• Setting up Base Lift: After fixing of plan bracing, we will fix the base lift at a maximum
height of 2 meter.
• Fixing of Bracing: We will fix the bracing in a way that the angle between them will be
35° to 55°.

• Fixing of Plank (Working Platform): We will follow the following steps while fixing plank
➢ All boards will rest squarely and evenly
➢ Each board will have at least 3 supports
➢ The surface of the platform will be even to prevent tripping.
➢ Precautions will be taken to prevent boards lifting in high winds using straps or
clamps

As per IS 3696 - 1 (1987),

Note: Some safety measures will be taken in the matter of Scaffold Tie.
❖ Ties will only be removed by competent persons.
❖ If it’s necessary to remove, additional ties will be fixed before removal.
❖ Scaffolding will be checked on regular basis and always before dismantling.
❖ Structure used for the tie will be of sufficient strength and rigidity to hold the forces involved.
• Will provide sufficient space to neatly stack or store the component as they are removed
from the scaffold.
• Will provide proper access while shifting the materials.
• Will inspect the scaffold base so that we can avoid any kind of hazards.
• Will pay particular attention to the scaffold tie and ensure all bracing is complete.
• If necessary, we might stabilize the weakened scaffold before it’s safe to dismantle.
• Will examine all platform for soundness.
