- The scope of counseling covers personal, social, cognitive, behavioral, psychological,


emotional, spiritual, occupational and even health aspect of an individual. However, it
does not deal with the clinical cases such as mental illness.
Finding Practical Applications of
Concepts & Skills in Daily Living  Situational Analysis:
Learners will answer the situations to be presented by the facilitator and identify if counseling is
applicable in each situation.

Counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups
to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. The primary goal of
counseling is to help people utilize their prevailing social skills and problem solving skills more
functionally, or to cultivate new surviving and coping skills.
