Online Book Store

Abstract

The purpose of online book store is to automate the existing manual system by the help of computerized
equipment and computer software, so that it is easy to store information for a longer period of time with
easy access and easy manipulation at the same time. It saves time and is consequently generated by the
server. Admin is the main authority who can searchfor books, order book .JAVA will be used as
the main technology to develop this web-based Online Book store. This online book store helps people to
concentrate on their other activities rather than to concentrate in the record keeping. This it helps in better
utilization of resource. This application helps user not to be distracted by information that is not relevant
while being able to reach the information.

Introduction

The “Online Book Store” has been developed by override the problem prevailing in the practicing manual
system. This software is supposed to eliminate and in some cases reduce the hardship faced by this existing
system. Moreover this system is designed for the particular need of the company to carry the operations in
smooth in a smooth and effective manner. The application id reduced as much as possible to avoid error
while entering the data. It also provides error message while entering invalid data. No formal knowledge to
need for the user to use the system. Every book store has different books need hence I have include
employee management system that are adapted to managerial requirement. Every organization weather big
or small has challenge to overcome and managing the information of customer, Books, order Status, Stock,
Book store. This online Book store will ultimately help people to better manage resources and use it.
The application is reduce as much as possible to avoid error while entering the data. It
also provide error message while entering invalid data. No formal knowledge is needed for the
user to use this system. The motive is to develop user friendly Online Book store.

Aim
The aim of the Online Book store is to automate existing manual system. This online book store
helps to search for the book easily and store data easily.it manages all the information about the
Books, customer, and Stock and order status. This system helps to reduce manual work to
manage the book customer and order. The user can read different types of book without wasting
any money.

Objectives

- To provide integrate all the records of stock.

- To manage the available book.
- To increase efficiency of managing the book, customer.
- To provide search facilities based on various factor.
- To show information of book order.

Literature review and problem statement

In this modern era of digitization and digital information, the tradition of recording the book details and
customer detail and order detail is still there. Some of the book store still have traditional file to keep
records of the available book, order book which are written manually and may have many errors in them.
People spend hours to create a manual record book which may also have errors. Since now every this is
digital we can see lots of organization storing information digitally. So to solve the problem of manually
keeping records this web application is created.

In our system, there is one types of users 1. Admin 2. Customer. The admin will handle the system and
will be having control over all the systems. The admin can add/remove available books, can search for
the book, look into the users, change their access to the system, etc. Customers can search for the book
and read the book, place an order for the book.

The main features or modules of our online bookstore are as follows:

Conclusion

Hence, we can conclude that this online Book Store system is going to be a platform with good
functionality for customers to order read and search for books comfortably by sitting at home or
anywhere where there is access of internet. The java will be used with SQL database for
optimal security and flexibility for the system
