Problems Faced by L&T construction:

1. Shortage of skilled and unskilled labor and contractors due to pandemic.

2. High attrition rate due to toxic work culture and remote posting without proper
amenities.
3. High employee dissatisfaction due to long working hours and no extra compensation for
the extra work hours.
4. Bad coordination between HR and the supervising managers.
5. No systematic work culture and HR policy implementation.
6. Not adapting to modern HR practices.
7. Reporting culture was bad and one needs to wait for both lower hierarchy people and
upper hierarchy also.
8. Job location is pan India and transferring random to any states of India.
9. Fixed component of salary isn’t great as per the demand of work and industry standard.

10. North-South shift. Person from north posted in south India and person from
south posted in North India, even though enough assets are available for the
reverse scenario.

11. Uses of foul bad languages even for normal works or deadlines.
12. Major of the workforce are on contractual basis or daily wage worker without any
medical coverage, proficient fund, gratuity.
13. No fun activities to do or organized for leisure time which is in itself a bliss.

Proposed Solutions:
1. Workforce must be increased by multifold to reduce the workload and exploitation
of employees.
1. Reforming the old HR policies and practices and implementing them.
2. Introducing 3 shift work-days replacing the current 2 shift work-days.
3. Clear communication of the job roles and responsibilities before joining.
4. Provision of proper amenities, allowance at remote postings like hilly area
allowances in defense.
5. Stringent rules will be required to implement the laws like the same organization
follows most of the labor laws in its international contracts.
6. Proper hierarchy and reporting system must be implemented to reduce wait for
extra working hours.
7. Organizing fun activities, games, picnics and some other entertaining thing once
every month to keep the employee fresh because, too much work and no enjoy makes
