Job Title: Community health Officer  
Location: Aden 
Reporting to: Senior Medical officer

JOB SUMMARY
This Position will be responsible in managing CHVs and CHVs assistant in Lahj , Aden and
Almokha  to change the community Knowledge , Behaviors and attitude toward the best health ,
Nutrition  , hygiene practices .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Effective implementation and delivery of Community interventions project:

 Coordinate with DHO, local authority and women IYCF supporting groups to facilitate routine
CHVs activities and conduct campaigns 
 Coordinate with Lahj GHO to schedule the planed mobilization campaign. 
 Help regular review of CHVs reporting system to track progress and monitor of the CHVs
activities.

Key and lead person on sector field community /CHV data collect. 

 Physically visit PHC facilities and collect daily forms from PHC service providers
 Follow up with and provide onsite technical assistance to PHC service providers to ensure that
they record data correctly
 Entry all relevant data daily and prepare weekly morbidity & mortality report
 Prepare monthly reports on primary and reproductive health
 Cross check the morbidity data submitted by the medical registrars and report any anomalies to
Medical Advisor in time.
 In coordination with Health Officer, collect from the community level data from the partners 
 Prepare graphs and charts on relevant indicators for health & nutrition program, ensuring that
concerned staff at the clinic receives a copy on monthly and quarterly basis.
 Update the Health &Nutrition M&E chart and share with all sector members on monthly bases.
 Help in enhancing the capacity of PHC service providers in record keeping and filling up forms
 Organize orientation / training for PHC service providers on correct record keeping of relevant
forms and reports.
 Conduct Quarterly Feedback on H&N indicator As long with with medical Adviser and Health
Area Manager
 Provide logistic support to the training activities  
 Maintain files and records on health information system (HIS) following standard filing system
with proper labeling
 Assist the team in typing, printing and photocopying of program documents and reports
especially in training activities.
 Establish photo and stories system documentation for each achievement activity.   
 Help team in preparing purchase / vehicle request
 Provide administrative supports to the program.
 Health & Nutrition Data Backup on monthly basis.
 Assist the health& Nutrition officer and program Manager Clinic Administrator.
 Minute’s taker for the internal and external coordination meeting.         

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse: Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual


Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries
served by International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics: Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout
International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of
International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those
standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Bachelors/diploma degree in public health, social science or related field.


 Able to define the content and organize the Educations sessions for target populations.
 1+ years of relevant work experience (in humanitarian situations)
 Planning of activities and have good communication skills.
 Good knowledge of the intervention area.
 Good organizational capacity and good capacity to write reports – 
 Working under pressure and travel if needed
