institutes while candidates who have cleared only JEE Mains can opt for seats in
NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. After choice filling candidates can lock their choices, else
it will be auto locked prior to the results of Round 1.

allotment letter and pay seat acceptance fees Rs. 35000 (for General, EWS and OBC
category candidates) or Rs. 15000 (for SC and ST category candidates).

IIT while those who have been allotted seat in NIT, IIIT or GFTI can report at any
nearby NIT, IIT or GFTI. Documents are verified at the reporting centre and
candidate is given choice either to FREEZE or FLOAT or SLIDE the seat allotted to
them.

FREEZE - Selecting this option means that the candidate accepts the seat at the
institute and branch allotted to him/her.

FLOAT - If the candidate wants to participate in rounds scheduled ahead in the

counselling then float option has to be selected. The candidate can be allotted
seat in any of the institute which he/she has locked during choice filling of
higher preference than that was allotted earlier.
