Disease Control & Prevention Procedures Addendum

School Entrance Procedures

The first time a student enters the campus they must fill out a declaration form stating that they have
been in Shanghai for the past 14 days.

To enter the campus, all students must be prepared to show:

1. Green Health Code

a. Only Alipay code accepted
b. Only on Mondays or after a holiday
c. Can bring a printout or screenshot of parents code but must be current (within a
24 hour period)
2. Daily Health Check Forms
3. Temperature Check
a. Must be 37.3° or below
4. All Students/Staff must wear a mask when entering campus

No visitors will be allowed on campus without prior approval from school administration.

Temperature Checks

All students must submit to a temperature check when entering the campus and before lunch during 5 th
period. For those that take the bus, you must also get a temperature check before getting onboard.
Any student that has a fever must report this to the school and the school nurse will be in contact with
the family. No student may enter campus until they have gone 48 hours with no fever.

Fever

For students who have a fever, please inform the nurse’s office first. Students must then go get the
COVID test done and submit the negative results to the nurse before coming on campus.

Maintaining Social Distancing

Students must maintain a 1-meter distance from others whenever possible. When students are able to
maintain a 1-meter distance, it is not necessary to wear a mask. This also applies to in-class learning.
When they are in crowded situations, however, students are required to wear a mask. This applies to
classroom instruction when working in groups. The exception to this is when students are outside or
attending PE class. In these situations, students should NOT wear a mask.
Assemblies

When students have assemblies, there must be a seat between each student to maintain social
distancing. As a result, during school-wide assemblies, both 1 st and 2nd floor auditoriums will be used.
When attending a school assembly, students should be respectful and listen regardless of what floor
they are on.

Air-Conditioning

We will be using air-conditioning in the classrooms but each teacher will ensure that proper ventilation
is used at all times.

Buses

Students who take the bus must get a temperature check before boarding. The windows in the buses
will be down to ensure proper ventilation. It is encouraged, but not required, for students to wear a
mask when riding the bus.

Daily Health Check Forms

At the start of every week, the students will receive this form from their homeroom teachers. This form
must be filled out, at home, every day. Students will record the temperatures and symptoms of every
member of their household. It is important to bring this with you every morning as this is part of the
entry requirement to entering the school. These forms will be turned in to the homeroom teacher the
last day of the school week.

Lunch Time

All students in G6 and G8 must eat their lunch in the school cafeteria, regardless if they bring their own
lunch. All students must sit in their designated place in the cafeteria. Every student will have a nametag
on their table where they are to sit.

G7 and high school students will eat lunch in their homeroom class and must sit in their assigned desk.

Students who eat the cafeteria provided lunches will receive a lunch box (there will be no options for
the students to choose). For those students who must eat lunch in their homerooms, they will be able
to purchase lunch boxes in the first or second floor locker areas and bring it to their homeroom. Once
done, students will return the lunch boxes to the place they received it.

All students are required to stay in their designated lunch area or they can go outside. Once you are
finished with lunch, please make sure that your area is cleaned and then you may go outside for the
remainder of the lunch break.
Outside Food

Students are not allowed to order outside food nor are they allowed to have food delivered from home.
If students wish to eat their own food, it must be brought in during the morning check-in period. We
will allow access to microwaves if students need to heat up any food.

Transition Periods

Students should go directly to their next class once the bell rings. There should be no lingering in the
hallways or common areas. During the long break between period 2 and period 3, students are allowed
to purchase items from the Student Council locker shop but once purchased the students should go to
their next class. Please make sure to maintain social distancing while waiting to get items from the
locker shop.

Clubs

Clubs are still allowed to meet afterschool and during lunch provided the clubs can maintain social
distancing and that a staff sponsor is always in the room. For lunch clubs, meeting during lunchtime
might prove problematic since homerooms are used during lunch periods. For all clubs that meet after
school, the time the club ends should be at 4:20 except with prior approval from the SA Director. It is
important to vacate the rooms on time so that our cleaning staff can disinfect the rooms before the next
day’s use.

Sports

In general, we want to ensure that students are able to maintain their usual activities as much as
possible. As a result, we will attempt to have sports but we will not be able to have competitions with
other schools. This might change as the year progresses. We will keep you informed of any changes.

Hygiene

We expect all students to maintain a healthy lifestyle which means practicing good hygiene habits.
These include, but not limited to,

 Washing your hands regularly

 Using alcohol hand solution
 Keeping your area clean and disinfected using alcohol wipes
 Keeping your locker clean and disinfected
 Covering your mouth when you sneeze
 Keeping on a mask when being closer than 1 meter to someone else
Field Trips

Until things change, there will be no approved field trips, even if going somewhere in Shanghai.

Large Gatherings

Large scale events will not be allowed in a traditional sense. We are hoping to continue these events
but we will need to do so in a more creative manner. Events like Back-to-school night, Winter Concert,
drama performances, etc. will likely be required to become virtual events instead of audience invited
events.

Library

The library will be open to students but will have restrictions on the number of students allowed in the
library at any given time. Printing in the library will not be allowed. For any projects or papers that need
printed, we strongly suggest doing so at home and bring the printed copy with you to school.
