Lesson Plan Veganism
Aim(s): to build awareness on the cruelty inflicted upon animals at factory farms and
slaughterhouses, as one of the causes for becoming a vegan
to develop listening (/viewing) skills
to acquire vocabulary on the topic
to acquire knowledge on the use of “used to” and be/get used to”
To allow Ss to
express their - At the end of the slide show T asks T-Stimulator Speaking
opinion on the Ss whether they have now enough S-Struggler
topic reasons to become vegans/vegetarian
or to be more selective about the food
they eat.
-Ss give their own opinion on the
matter.
To provide
background -T tells Ss they are going to watch a T-Presenter Listening
information and to cartoon entitled “Meatrix” for the gist S- Listener
stimulate Ss to of it.

cartoon.
To develop
listening skills - Ss are given a worksheet on the T- Guide Listening /
through a note cartoon. Ss watch the cartoon a S- Struggler Writing
taking exercise second time and take notes on some
specific information (ex.1).
- T asks specific Ss to read their
notes to check their understanding of
the cartoon.
To show
understanding of -Ss are asked to complete some “Reading” /
the text by statements about the cartoon (ex.2). Writing

To activate Ss’
knowledge on the - T hands out a crossword on the T-Motivator Writing
vocabulary of the vocabulary studied to be completed. If S- Struggler
topic there isn’t much time, they will do it
for homework.
