ENGLISH REFLECTION

From the 3rd module of the 3rd quarter in English, I learned about composing an
independent critique of a chosen selection. In the activity labeled as what i know, I test myself
on how I understand the hidden lesson without reading the discussion. I also try to answer the
what's more Activity A, I understand more about the given selection as I free to give my
comments and ask my questions that pop into my mind. As I really want to understand the
critique, I research some story to try make it a critique. After that I learned its significance in
every writer to summarize every story to highlight its conclusion and central statement.

From the discussion, I learned the steps in writing a critique. First, I need to
understand the given text or story throughly and make the strucy of my critique. Second, I need
to identify the title and author of the work, state my thesis, and evaluative stand. Third, give
the summary of the work as I write the lessons of the story or the important information that
every reader must know. The next one critical evaluation, I should include an organized detailed
analysis of the work using my chosen lens, expressing my thesis statement and providing
supporting information at its goal. Last the conclusion, briefly summarize the points I have
made, leading to a restatement of my verdict about the text.

As I learned a lot from this module, now I know how to compose a critique of a
selection. An important thing to remember is that a critique is not an exercise in finding fault
with the text, or simply reviewing it according to preference or taste. A critique demonstrate a
through understanding of the material as well as critical thinking that allows you to read the
substance and quality of the text. It is more in line with an evaluative analysis, where the text is
examined closely and it's trying to fix and weaknesses are appraised. Now that I learned how to
compose a critique of a selection, I'm hoping to learn more about critiquing.
