Lesson Reflection

 Lesson 1: Narration
I understand that Narration is a type of text structure wherein its
purpose is mostly to tell a story. One good example is about telling
what happened on your birthday, how did you achieve your dreams
and such. Basically, the writer will just tell or narrate anything he or
she wants to share.
I realized that transitional devices are indeed important because it
allows the thoughts or statements in the text to be presented properly
and smoothly
I need to learn more about; honestly none, since Narration is one of the
easiest types of structure because all you have to do is to narrate
something. Maybe one thing I need is to learn more transitional
devices that would fit with the statements in the text.
 Lesson 2: Description
I understand that Description is a type of text structure that has the
goal of describing subjects or creating images in the reader’s mind.
I realized that an adjective is an important concept in this paragraph
development because adjectives help the writer to describe different
subjects such as a person, an object, an event, and several more.
I need to learn more about describing a subject that would bring
a sense of attachment to the readers because that is the beauty of
Descriptive text, to let the readers visualize what is happening or
what is the subject is like.
 Lesson 3: Definition
I understand that Definition is a type of text structure with the goal of
explaining or giving an exact meaning of a subject.
I realized that in a Definition type of paragraph development, it is not
just completely defining a subject, but it can also define a subject in a way
on how it is used in the text such as its symbols, representation, or simply
behind the message.
I need to learn more about the use of Connotation because it is one of the
ideas that readers will evaluate and try to determine the meaning of the
thoughts presented in the text.
 Lesson 4: Exemplification
I understand that Exemplification and Classification is a type of text
structure that gives examples or categorizes a subject into more
classifications.
I realized that Exemplification is helpful because it allows the writer to
provide support or evidence for his main subject or point.
I need to learn more about it; actually, none at all since I have known or
written several examples of Exemplification and Classification.
Lesson 5: Compare and Contrast
I understand that Compare and contrast is a type of structure
that has the purpose of comparing two or more different subjects
to one another.
I realized that Compare and Contrast is the best type of
paragraph development when you need to compare different
subjects. It can be in the form of a block method or point-to-point
method.
I need to learn more about it; I have understood this concept very
well so I don’t have anything to learn more about. Maybe I
should just practice and write more examples of Compare and
Contrast text structure.
 Lesson 6: Problem & Solution
I understand that Problem & Solution is a type of text structure
that presents a problem and providing a solution for it.
I realized that it is important to first understand what problem
is being presented, and determine the best solution for it, for the
readers to know and also apply it to their lives.
I need to learn more about thinking and providing a solution for
the problem because it is the goal of this type of paragraph
development, to provide a solution for the problem. I should learn
different and several solutions that would then help the readers
with their lives.
 Lesson 7: Persuasion
I understand that Persuasion is a type of text structure that has the
purpose of encouraging or persuading the readers to agree with the writer's
stand or position.
I realized that it is important to apply the 3 techniques which are Logos,
Pathos, and Ethos so the reader can better connect with the readers.
I need to learn more about constructing a Persuasive text because it is
difficult to persuade the readers if you are not credible enough, and also if
the text you have presented does not engage them at all.
