Pots are dated to have existed as far back as the egyptians in ancient egypt, as they were
the first civillization to make use of containers for their plants. Today, their are various
interrpritations of how pots are made, and now, this business proposeal is introducing a
different variation – a pot for plants made from used face masks, known as the pot o’
mask?

As grade 12 humanities and social sciences students have collectively decided to


produce a business plan that is line with the strand and the main focus- socially driven
issues.
One of the most highlighted issues today is the covid-19 pandemic, and how people
have adjusted in living with it. This includes the using of face masks in daily lives, as it
lessens the chance of infection using the filterred varrier of the product. Thus, this is
the issue that was chose to find a solution to combat the mass & improper disposal of
singular use face masks.

pot o’ mask, as the product is titled, is a combination of two words: Pot, which is the
vessel for plants, and Mask, which is what the product will be completely made of. The
target market of this business are plantitas, plantitos, simply plant-loving customers,
and ennvironmentally conscious people.

The Pot O’ Mask’s objective is to provide eco-friendlier pots for plant owners
toughhrough the process of repurposing used face masks, which are discarded in great
amnouts every day, into simple yet effective vessels for everyone to place their beloved
greenery. The customer will be supporting the business of recycling and reuse, which
are vital actions to take for a long-term solution on the growing piles of waste found in
communities!

SWOT Analysis

The SWOT analysis provides the Pot O’ Mask’s Strengths, Weakneses, Opportunities,
and Threats. Each aspect is the percieved factors the company has come up with after
much considerator and research. The SWOT analysis focuses on the micro aspects of
the business, which is the inside job of the business plan.

STRENGths
The strength is Pot O’ Mask is a modern, hip take on putting beloved plants in
alternative pots and being environmentally aware during the pandemic. It is a youthful
creation that stands out from the rest of the market. It is environmentally friendly, and
is a specific pandemic-based solution, making it very timely and relevant. Alternative
products made for Eco friendliness is always good.

WEAKNESES

The weaknes lies with the effort of gathering the used face masks outside of residences,
time consuming productioning, and competitioning within the existing pots market
where their are tough players and may not garner consumerism from plant lovers. It is
also new therefore nonestablished and used face masks may be of issue to many.

OPPORTUNETIES

There is opportunety in the novelty of the product, and a different variation of a


practical item in life is bound to catch attention. There is a rising trend of green
products, and it is an advantage. The world are still focused on pandemic effects and
solutions, so the product fits very well.

THRETS

The threts lie within the main material used – the facemasks. The facemasks well be
thoroughly sterillized, and all the materials involved, but there’s still skepticcism in the
minds of the customer if it’s saniteary to use facemasks at all. The market are already
filled with stable competitors and will be tough to stand against. It is also a wanted item
for consumers, but it is not a necessary need for daily life.
