Nowadays banking industry is one of the largest service sectors in India . Its main aim is
to attract the Asian market in terms of investments . The prime function of banking sector is to
provide efficient services to its customers . It consists public and private sector financial banks
whose objective is to serving people for their banking, financial and economic needs.
INTRODUCTION TO STUDY
• A bank is a financial institute that accepts deposits from the public and create a demand deposit
while simultaneously making loans.
• We see that few banks have reached a situation where it has become a necessity to merge in order
to sustain among its competitors.
OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE
Research Objectives:
1. To study the recent development in banking sector.
2. To study the customers perception about bank merger.
Scope:
We are going to cover Maharashtra district and customer who has
account in mergered bank.

The concept of this study is simple and the main intension of this study is to know
the customers perception towards merging of bank. And how it is affected people
by doing their daily transactions.
METHOD OF STUDY
1. Primary data-
Fresh data or raw data is known as primary data collected from sources. The project is about
the study of customers perception towards bank merger in Maharashtra state. In this project data is collected
through questionnaire.
2. Secondary data-
It is the data that have already collected by some other sources which is readily available.
• Internet
• Book
Sample size-
Sample size measures the number of individual sample measures or observed in survey or
experiment.
n = 105
Sampling method -
A sampling method is a procedure for selecting sample members from the population.
There are two types of sampling method.
• Probability
• Non-probability
• Probability –
Every unit get chance to get selected.
• Non -probability-
It is non random selection.
• Research instrument-
The research instrument used for this project is questionnaire.

FINDINGS
From the study it is observed that out of 105 respondents 63.8% of respondent thinks that
facilities are being improved after merging the bank and 36.1% thinks that facilities were better
before merging the bank.
It is also observed that 25.7% of respondents felt anxiety after hearing news of merging bank.
57% of respondent responded for No because they didn’t felt any anxiety.
